Episode #279: Feel It to Heal It

from Tea Time w/Amie & Bev · host Amie Wade

Grief and heavy emotions often come with the urge to escape by filling the void with distractions, busyness, or numbing habits. While those temporary fixes might feel soothing, they don’t resolve what’s happening beneath the surface. The body remembers what the mind avoids. Unprocessed emotions can linger in your nervous system, quietly shaping your health, your relationships, and your overall well-being.  Processing emotions isn’t about rushing or “getting over it.” It’s about allowing yourself to feel, to sit with the discomfort, and to acknowledge the loss or pain without judgment. Grief, especially, has no set timeline; there’s no calendar to measure healing. Some days may feel lighter, others may feel unbearably heavy, and both are valid.  By leaning into the process, rather than apologizing for your tears or silencing your emotions, you create space for real emotional growth. You discover resilience, compassion, and a deeper connection to yourself. Healing doesn’t come from avoidance; it comes from presence.  So, the next time your emotions rise, honor them. They are not signs of weakness, but signs of your humanity and they are worthy of your attention.  May this conversation be beneficial to your life journey.
