Episode 29: The Language of Your Emotions

from I’ve Got You Mama · host Maria Hendershot

A Letter to the Listener Hey mama, If someone asked you how you were feeling right now, what would you say? If you're like most of us, it might be something like, "I'm stressed," "I'm overwhelmed," or simply, "I'm fine." But what if those words are only scratching the surface? What if "stressed" is actually covering disappointment, grief, loneliness, uncertainty, or resentment? And what if learning to name those emotions more accurately could change the way you respond to them? How often do you pause long enough to notice what's happening inside of you? And what might change if, instead of criticizing yourself for how you feel, you became curious about it? In this episode, we're beginning to learn a new language - the language of our emotions. Emotional intelligence isn't something you're born with. It's a skill you can learn.
