Welcome to Emergency Protocol! A podcast hosted by Denise and Jackie Freed, a mother daughter duo from LA, whose goal is simply to share wisdom and help others. Today’s episode focuses on what brought them to podcasting, unpacking family history, and Denise and Jackie’s individual stories of substance use and abuse.Denise battled substance abuse until she was 20 years old when she walked into a Twelve Step group where she finally found a community to surround herself with. Growing up in a sober household, Jackie learned to understand the complexities that came with her family’s substance abuse but struggled herself with mental health, anxiety, and depression. Denise and Jackie believe that there is nothing to lose and a lot to gain, both for themselves and everyone else, by sharing their stories.
