Episode #315: The Silent Struggles of Motherhood

from Tea Time w/Amie & Bev · host Amie Wade

Motherhood is often described as beautiful, fulfilling, and life-changing. And it is. But what people don’t always talk about are the quiet moments behind the scenes - the exhaustion, guilt, emotional overload, and the pressure moms place on themselves to hold everything together while secretly running on fumes and coffee that went cold three hours ago.  Many mothers spend so much time caring for everyone else that they slowly disconnect from themselves. Self-love begins to feel selfish instead of necessary. But the truth is, constantly abandoning your own needs doesn’t create stronger families, it creates depleted women.  Healing begins when a mom realizes she deserves support too. A healthy support system -whether friends, family, community, or professional guidance - can remind her she was never meant to carry everything alone. Strength is not measured by how much suffering you can silently survive.  There’s also a deeper perspective many mothers feel connected to: the idea of spiritual agreements between parent and child. Some believe children enter our lives not only to be guided by us, but also to teach us, awaken us, and help us grow emotionally and spiritually. Sometimes the child changes the mother just as much as the mother shapes the child.  Motherhood isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence, healing, love, and learning to care for yourself while caring for others. Because a nurtured mother nurtures differently.  May this conversation be beneficial to your life journey.
