Episode 39: Inflexible/Weak Feet causing your Low Back, Knee, and Pelvic Floor Pain??

from Form, Function and Flow Lab with Dr. Kate · host Dr. Kate Eckert

In this week’s episode of Form, Function, and Flow Lab, I talked about having inflexible or weak feet possibly being the cause of your low back, knee, and pelvic floor pain. I posted on TikTok recently talking about your feet being strong and flexible. If you don’t have strong feet, you run the risk of losing the shock absorber for your body. Losing such can then lead to issues like plantar fasciitis, ankle pain, knee pain, hip pain, or even pelvic floor dysfunction. I wanted to talk about how you can slowly implement activities to make your feet stronger and more flexible. In this episode we discuss: [0:36] Introduction to the topic [2:41] The concept of the feet being a shock absorber  [3:28] The problem with wearing certain types of shoes [8:20] Recommended Activities   [16:20] Strengthening Exercises [22:22] Shoes you can wear after doing myofascial release, mobility, and strengthening   If you have any questions, you can drop it in the comment section or you send me a message through Facebook or Instagram. I’d be happy to do another podcast about your questions. Also, if you want me to talk about something specific, let me know! You can also check my TikTok account as I use the platform to educate viewers about movement, chiropractic education, yoga, pregnancy, and more!  Thank you for listening and see you next week!
