Episode 40 | Weird Food Combos, Being Re-Baptized, Serving Guilt, & Fighting the Flesh

from Going to The Chapel · host The Chapel BR

(5:51) Question of the Day: What is a food combination you like that you would say, “Don’t knock it til you try it?”(12:50) Hot Topic: Is it okay to be baptized multiple times in your life? (19:09) Discussion & Member Questions: Let’s recap what we covered on Sunday just to remind everyone what it was about(21:32) While preparing this sermon, were there any parts you wished you would have had more time to draw out?(24:45) In Galatians, we’ve been talking about how our works don’t earn us salvation or change our standing with God. I fully believe that, but inside a church family, it can still be hard to say no. Sometimes there’s a guilt or pressure to always show up, serve, volunteer, etc. Why would I still feel that tension even when we know our value to God doesn’t depend on what we do?(31:39) On Sunday, we talked about how we can’t “do anything” to save ourselves or overcome the flesh. But Scripture also gives us active commands like deny yourself, take up your cross, bear the fruit of the Spirit, put on the armor of God, be holy as I am holy, etc. So what part do we play in this? What responsibility do we have in obedience when the power comes from God, not us? (43:12) Steve, you shared about struggling with His power. There could be an assumption that then it should be easy to fight sin, but we still struggle in our flesh. So what does that really look like while walking in the spirit?(49:33) Celebration: Chapel Kids Team & Volunteers
