Episode 41 : Spin Spin Raya!!

from Zelocast : Glow with the Flow · host Zelocast : Glow with the Flow

This week, Zelocast is officially on the road—literally! Instead of recording in our usual studio, we’re bringing the microphones into the car as we go jalan-jalan across Singapore visiting family and friends for Hari Raya.Since Raya in Singapore (and Malaysia) is basically a month-long visiting marathon, we’re still happily pusing-pusing around the island catching up with the people we love. And yes… Zach (Zahier) is finally back! 🎉We know many of you have been wondering where he disappeared to, so we took the chance to catch up with him and hear about his latest adventures—including celebrating Hari Raya in Indonesia. From the legendary Jakarta “mudik” homecoming traffic jams to the warm and communal nasi liwet feasts in the mountains of Ciamis, Zach shares what celebrating Raya across the border feels like.Of course, the conversation wouldn’t be complete without talking about the very real (and sometimes hilarious) struggles of visiting relatives as visually impaired friends. We’ve all experienced moments like:🚆 Travelling nearly two hours… just to find the right block.🤝 Accidentally missing a salam handshake because you didn’t realise a hand was offered.🛋️ Getting quietly “parked” in opposite corners of a crowded living room during an Open House.😅 And dodging those classic Raya questions from relatives like:“How many A’s did you get?”“So… when are you getting married?”Through all the laughter and chaos, this episode is really about family, forgiveness, and staying connected during this beautiful festive season.Whether you’re still enjoying rendang and kuih Raya, or you’ve already switched back to your daily mi goreng routine, come ride along with us as we celebrate the halfway point of the Raya visiting season.✨ Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we are still champions.Don’t forget to follow, like, and subscribe to Zelotones Official on YouTube, Spotify, and all our socials to keep glowing with the flow.⸻🎵 This podcast episode is proudly brought to you by Zelotones Official.Zelotones is an independent and inclusive band that brings together visually and cognitively impaired musicians with non-disabled collaborators, all working as equals.Every member has a voice in song selection, musical arrangements, creative direction, and the future of the band.More than just a concept, Zelotones demonstrates what true inclusion looks like through everyday collaboration.Looking to bring live music to your event?Zelotones performs at corporate events, dinners & dances, private functions, and more.📩 Booking enquiries: [email protected]
