Episode 49 : Road Trip to JDT!
This week on Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, we're taking the podcast out of the studio and across the Causeway for a special road-trip adventure to Johor Bahru! 🇸🇬➡️🇲🇾With alarms set at an absolutely ridiculous 3:00 AM, the team packed our bags, grabbed our passports, and headed north for a long-weekend getaway to the iconic Sultan Ibrahim Stadium — home of the mighty JDT, the Southern Tigers. 🐯⚽Now, we won't lie... the trip started with mixed emotions.Just hours earlier, Alex and Mr. Engineer were still recovering from Arsenal's heartbreaking defeat to PSG. The wounds were fresh. The pain was real. The tears... may or may not have happened. 😭⚽But the moment we arrived at JDT's stunning crown-shaped stadium, the football blues slowly disappeared. As a die-hard JDT supporter, Alex may have slightly lost control at the merchandise store. By "slightly," we mean he somehow came home with THREE jerseys, a cap, a cup, keychains, and enough souvenirs to start his own mini club shop. 😅The biggest surprise of the trip?We got to experience the VIP treatment usually reserved for football stars by riding in the famous JDT Hummer Limousine! 🚘✨Naturally, we spent the entire ride waving out the windows like celebrities arriving for a cup final. The best part? This incredible experience is provided FREE for the PWD community — a wonderful example of inclusion done right.Of course, this wouldn't be a Zelocast adventure without at least one moment of pure chaos. While exploring the stadium grounds, Alex confidently took a step forward... and immediately plunged one leg into a decorative pond. 💦😂Apparently, his trusted "GPS" (also known as his white cane) decided to take a short break that day.The result? One wet leg, one shocked Alex, and one memory the rest of us will never let him forget.Along the way, we talk about:⚽ Football passion and heartbreak🚦 Surviving 3 AM border traffic🎁 Collecting way too much football merchandise♿ Accessibility and inclusion in sports venues😂 Travel mishaps and unforgettable moments❤️ Why the best journeys are about the people you share them withFrom border jams to stadium tours, laughter to football therapy, this episode reminds us that sometimes happiness isn't found in the destination — it's found in the adventure itself.✨ Together we make a difference. Episode 48 : Join us for Dinner!
This week on Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, we've swapped our usual studio setup for something much more important... food! 😋Join us as we record straight from a Western restaurant in Singapore, where the microphones are on, the food is arriving, and Alex is making what may be the biggest decision of his adult life: ordering penne with prawns instead of his usual fish and chips. Brave? Reckless? You decide.Meanwhile, Zyana is armed with a bowl of spicy Tom Yum soup, hoping it can do what weeks of medication haven't quite managed yet—finally clear her throat once and for all. 🌶️🔥As dinner is served, we get into the real-life challenges of dining out when you can't see the menu. From waiters asking, "What would you like?" before telling us what's available, to secretly studying menus through GrabFood before we even leave home, we share the tricks we've learned to stay independent and confident when eating out.The conversation also takes a nostalgic turn as we revisit our school days and the legendary "Aunties" who absolutely refused to let us eat with our hands. Thanks to them, we became experts at deboning fish and navigating chicken wings using only a spoon and fork. Survival skills unlocked. 🍗🥄We also bust one of the biggest myths we hear all the time: that blind people who dine in restaurants must be rich. The reality? Sometimes restaurants are simply easier to navigate than crowded hawker centres where finding a seat, carrying food, and avoiding collisions can feel like an extreme sport. From Alex's highly questionable prawn-eating technique (which may involve more shell than prawn) to our unwavering faith that Arsenal are always one season away from greatness, this episode is packed with food, laughter, memories, and real conversations about independence. So pull up a chair, grab your favourite meal, and join us for a dinner conversation that's equal parts heartwarming and hilarious.✨ Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we are still champions.📚 This episode is proudly brought to you by Picture The Book! What if a story could be felt, imagined, and seen — all at the same time?Founded by blind author Sherry Eri, Picture The Book is changing the way children experience stories. Episode 47 : The Viral “Blind Woman” Video Was a TOTAL SCAM!
This week on Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, we’re starting with a story that had the internet talking… and then immediately saying: WAIT… WHAT?! 😳You might’ve seen that viral video from China showing an e-scooter rider scolding a blind woman for using a tactile path… only for people to later discover it was allegedly a fully staged setup created to gain attention, followers, and profit. That got us thinking:Where’s the line between raising awareness… and performing awareness?Because creating fake social experiments without context or disclaimers doesn’t just confuse people — it can create real consequences and sometimes even become a legal issue. But while that clip may have been fake… the risks we face in real life definitely aren’t.Alex opens up about one of his scariest experiences — when his “third eye” (his White Cane) was suddenly crushed under a lorry tyre after a vehicle sped into a car park without checking properly. We also share a heartbreaking story of a friend who became the victim of a reckless rider in a hit-and-run incident — left stranded in the dark with her cane snapped in half and forced to slowly find her way home using only her feet. And while we’re here… public service announcement 📣Dear media friends — especially those writing headlines — please help us get this right:It’s called a White Cane, not a “walking stick.”Because the difference matters.A walking stick supports movement.A White Cane supports independence, navigation, confidence… and in many ways, it becomes our way of seeing the world. We also bust some weird myths along the way — like the idea that blind people are automatically unhappy, or that someone can’t feel beautiful, confident, or attractive just because they don’t see themselves in the mirror. (Spoiler: confidence isn’t optical 😎✨).And because this is still Zelocast… Alex starts the episode in full celebration mode because after years of patience and “trusting the process”… he is once again fully convinced Arsenal are champions. Football logic may vary. ⚽😂This one is funny, serious, chaotic, reflective — and very Zelocast.✨ Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we are still champions.📚 This episode is proudly brought to you by Picture The Book! What if a story could be felt, imagined, and seen — all at the same time? 💛Founded by blind author Sherry Eri, Picture The Book is changing the way children experience stories. Episode 46 : Real Friends vs. Frenemies - The MJ Lesson
We’re finally back, ZeloFam! 😷✨After one absolutely chaotic week where the entire crew got knocked down by fever, & we joking assumed it's the “Hantavirus” — or in Malay, the legendary “Hantar Virus” (because Alex is fully convinced it spread through a WhatsApp message 📱😂) — we’ve officially crawled out of bed and decided to record an episode while getting some fresh air.So yes… this episode is literally recorded on the move, with Mr. Engineer driving us around while the rest of us are still in recovery mode and trying not to cough mid-sentence.But somehow, in true Zelocast fashion, our conversation took a deep turn after talking about the life of Michael Jackson. Looking at the fame, the controversies, and the people constantly surrounding him made us wonder:🤔 How do you actually know who your real friends are when everyone seems nice to you? That question opened the floodgates. Zyana shares a painful but honest story about a “super best friend” she trusted for almost 10 years — only to eventually realise she had been blamed, backstabbed, and misunderstood for things that weren’t even her fault. We also get real with our own PWD community and dish out a little tough love 💛We talk about why having a disability doesn’t automatically mean we’re entitled to special treatment, and how attitude, kindness, and communication matter so much when asking for help in public. No “action-action” behaviour allowed 😅Along the way, we revisit some shocking memories of bullying from our school days — moments that still remind us why judging others too quickly can leave scars people never talk about. And because this is still Zelocast… Alex somehow finds a way to bring football into the conversation and confidently declares that Arsenal is definitely winning the double soon. Delusion? Passion? We’ll let you decide. ⚽😂This episode is messy, emotional, funny, and painfully honest — basically the perfect recovery episode.✨ Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we are still champions.📚 This episode is proudly brought to you by Picture The Book! What if a story could be felt, imagined, and seen — all at the same time? 💛Founded by blind author Sherry Eri, Picture The Book is changing the way children experience stories. Episode 45 : New Sponsor! Picture The Book
In this episode of Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, we’re celebrating a HUGE milestone — because for the very first time ever… we have an official sponsor! 🎉📚And not just any sponsor. We’re talking about Picture The Book — and to make things even more special, we’ve taken the show out of the studio and into the home of someone we truly admire: Kak Sherry Eri.She’s not just our guest. Not just our sponsor. She’s family, inspiration, and proof that creativity has no limits. 💛Kak Sherry is a blind author who is completely redefining what children’s books can be. She shares her powerful journey — from losing her sight at 28, to pivoting from freelance journalism, and eventually creating something truly meaningful: Picture The Book. Her stories are designed so that children who are blind can “see” through words, using rich descriptions and rhythmic storytelling — while sighted children enjoy the colorful illustrations. One story, two experiences. That’s real inclusion. We dive into her adorable “Cool Kitty” series (yes, inspired by her real cats 🐱), and her latest magical story, “Reindeer Princess and the Snow Owl” — which even features a theme song sung by our very own Zyana! 🎶✨Sherry also shares the heart behind her characters, especially Hood the Owl — a reminder that you don’t need to be anyone else to be special. And honestly… that message hits home for all of us.To wrap things up, we play a super fun visualisation game 🎯Sherry reads snippets from her books, Alex tries to imagine and describe the scenes… and little Chantiq becomes the ultimate judge to decide if he got it right. Let’s just say — results may vary. 😆This episode is all about creativity, resilience, and the power of inclusive storytelling. As Kak Sherry beautifully puts it:✨ “Stories with rhythm for kids who listen, and colour for kids who see.”✨ Together we make a difference. Episode 44 : Love Beyond Sight, Serene & Ben's Story
In this episode of Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, we’re diving into a love story that’s been going strong for over 30 years — and trust us, it’s anything but ordinary. 💛We’re joined by a very special couple, Serene (aka Cheche) and her husband Benjamin Tan, for a conversation that’s equal parts heartwarming, hilarious, and very real.Their story begins back in 1993, and let’s just say… it didn’t start with flowers and candles. It started with a legendary “butter trade” 🧈😆 — where Serene helped introduce a Chinese guy to her friend… in exchange for Benjamin’s phone number. Smooth operator. And if you think that’s bold — wait till you hear this:Serene eventually took things into her own hands and proposed to Benjamin herself… over a phone call. Iconic energy. 📞💍Benjamin, who is sighted, shares his side of the journey since they got married in 1996 — from winning over skeptical in-laws to learning how to support not just Serene, but her blind siblings as well.In one of the most relatable moments, he admits that even after all these years… he sometimes forgets Serene is blind and accidentally leaves her to navigate on her own — simply because he treats her like any other “normal” partner.Of course, life outside isn’t always smooth. The couple also shares some of the funniest (and slightly frustrating) public moments — like when strangers confidently assume that 57-year-old Serene is Benjamin’s mother. Yes… it happens more often than you think. 😅Serene also takes us back to her school days, sharing stories from the “Cottage” residential program, where blind students learned independence, discipline, and life skills under the watchful eyes of house mothers and matrons. From raising their 29-year-old sighted daughter to Benjamin’s role as the unofficial “handyman” at the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, this episode is a beautiful reminder that the best relationships aren’t perfect — they’re built on understanding, patience, and complementing each other’s flaws. And of course, we end things the Zelocast way — with a fun round of “Expose Your Partner” 🎯Who’s always late?Who says sorry first?Let’s just say… some truths were revealed. 😆This episode is funny, honest, and full of heart — a real look at love, partnership, and growing together through life’s ups and downs.✨ Together we make a difference. And let’s just say… the stories are LOADED. 😆Get ready for some top-tier family “tea” as they expose Alex’s origin story:👶 The “Acek” Origin StoryFind out how a 2-year-old Alex basically named himself — inspired by his love for classic P. Episode 42 : Zelocast Open House!
Syawal is still going strong, and honestly… we’re not ready to let the Raya vibes end just yet. 🎉So for this special episode, we’re doing something different — “Zelocast Open House!” That’s right, we’re opening our doors and inviting a circle of close friends we haven’t had the chance to properly sembang-sembang with in a long time.Expect a full-on Bahasa Rojak session — Malay, English, mixed emotions, inside jokes, and the kind of real conversations that only happen when good friends gather during Raya. This episode is packed with stories that are heartfelt, funny, and sometimes unexpectedly deep:💛 A beautiful story of an inter-abled marriage, where love was built on a hati mulia (noble heart), not just physical sight — and how family support made all the difference.📚 Our Ustazahs joined in, sharing how they were initially nervous teaching students with disabilities… until they experienced our gila-gila energy and realised life with PWDs is anything but boring.✈️ Our longtime friends spill the chaos of travelling and jalan-jalan with us — from cross-border adventures to navigating Singapore like pros.😂 And of course… the legendary throwbacks:Getting completely lost in a shopping mall just trying to find ONE lift. The origin story of the iconic nickname “Mummy Rosemary.”And proving that some of us know Singapore’s bus routes better than Google Maps.At its core, this episode is about breaking barriers and building real connections.Whether it’s learning how to approach a blind person or realising that PWD households are actually full of life, laughter, and noise — it all comes down to one thing: just being human together.✨ Together we make a difference. Episode 41 : Spin Spin Raya!!
This week, Zelocast is officially on the road—literally! Instead of recording in our usual studio, we’re bringing the microphones into the car as we go jalan-jalan across Singapore visiting family and friends for Hari Raya.Since Raya in Singapore (and Malaysia) is basically a month-long visiting marathon, we’re still happily pusing-pusing around the island catching up with the people we love. And yes… Zach (Zahier) is finally back! 🎉We know many of you have been wondering where he disappeared to, so we took the chance to catch up with him and hear about his latest adventures—including celebrating Hari Raya in Indonesia. From the legendary Jakarta “mudik” homecoming traffic jams to the warm and communal nasi liwet feasts in the mountains of Ciamis, Zach shares what celebrating Raya across the border feels like.Of course, the conversation wouldn’t be complete without talking about the very real (and sometimes hilarious) struggles of visiting relatives as visually impaired friends. We’ve all experienced moments like:🚆 Travelling nearly two hours… just to find the right block.🤝 Accidentally missing a salam handshake because you didn’t realise a hand was offered.🛋️ Getting quietly “parked” in opposite corners of a crowded living room during an Open House.😅 And dodging those classic Raya questions from relatives like:“How many A’s did you get?”“So… when are you getting married?”Through all the laughter and chaos, this episode is really about family, forgiveness, and staying connected during this beautiful festive season.Whether you’re still enjoying rendang and kuih Raya, or you’ve already switched back to your daily mi goreng routine, come ride along with us as we celebrate the halfway point of the Raya visiting season.✨ Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we are still champions.Don’t forget to follow, like, and subscribe to Zelotones Official on YouTube, Spotify, and all our socials to keep glowing with the flow.⸻🎵 This podcast episode is proudly brought to you by Zelotones Official.Zelotones is an independent and inclusive band that brings together visually and cognitively impaired musicians with non-disabled collaborators, all working as equals.Every member has a voice in song selection, musical arrangements, creative direction, and the future of the band.More than just a concept, Zelotones demonstrates what true inclusion looks like through everyday collaboration.Looking to bring live music to your event?Zelotones performs at corporate events, dinners & dances, private functions, and more.📩 Booking enquiries: [email protected]

Episode 40 : 4 Sekawan Beraya!!!
Welcome to a big milestone — Episode 40 of Zelocast – Glow with the Flow! 🎉 And to celebrate, we’re bringing you a festive special titled “4 Sekawan Beraya.”This episode is extra unique because the entire conversation is in Malay, giving our listeners a chance to enjoy the natural banter, jokes, and stories exactly the way we speak them among friends. For this special, Alex takes over the host’s chair and invites some of his longtime brothers from the Mobile Massage Team (MMT) at Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped to join the show: Jumari (also known as Pakcik Jumari Janggut), Moon (or Boon), and the ever-famous “handsome but shy” Faizal. But this isn’t your typical interview — it’s more like a Raya reunion among old friends who’ve shared years of life, work, and laughter together while navigating visual impairment. The crew swaps heartfelt and hilarious stories about celebrating Hari Raya, especially the adventures (and chaos) of navigating crowded open houses and festive gatherings. They also talk honestly about the funny little “dilemma” of public perception — appreciating awareness and kindness, but sometimes wishing people would just talk to them normally instead of treating them too specially.Of course, it wouldn’t be Zelocast without a bit of mischief. Alex even tries his hand at playing matchmaker, teasing his eligible bachelor friends and jokingly inviting listeners to send the show a PM if they’re interested. Who knows… Raya matchmaking might just become a new segment. 😆Between the inside jokes, brotherhood stories, and reflections on family support, the episode reminds us that the true spirit of Raya isn’t just the food or festivities — it’s the community and friendships that carry us through life. And to end things Zelocast-style, the gang jumps into a fun round of games — where Alex somehow manages to snatch the win against his buddies. So grab your kuih Raya, sit back, and enjoy this festive, heartfelt, and laughter-filled Malay-language episode.✨ Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we are still champions.

Episode 39 : It's Hari Raya feat. Chantiq
Welcome to Episode 39 of Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, and this one is extra special because we’ve got our very first “little guest” joining the studio — the adorable Chantiq! 🎤✨With festive vibes in the air, we’re diving straight into all things Hari Raya — the food, the traditions, and of course… the very strong opinions. Chantiq happily talks about her favourite Raya dishes like Lontong and Rendang, while Alex reveals some very strict personal rules about his Raya plate. For example: no soggy noodles, and absolutely no lontong gravy touching his rice. In fact, he says if the noodles get too close, he’d rather just drink the chicken soup by itself — imagining the chicken happily “swimming in a pool.” Yes, the standards are high in this household. 😆We also talk about one of the best parts of Raya for kids: Duit Raya 💚 Chantiq proudly shares how she spent her green packet money on a very satisfying “clicky” fidget toy, while Alex and Zyana take a nostalgic trip back to their own childhood visits — proudly admitting they were the “advantaged” kids who somehow always ended up with the biggest collection of green packets. But beyond the food and the fun, we also reflect on the deeper meaning of Hari Raya. It’s a time for forgiveness — maaf zahir dan batin — a chance to reset the heart after Ramadan and reconnect with the people who matter most.As persons with disabilities, we also get honest about the realities of Open House visiting. Sometimes it means getting stuck in one corner of a crowded living room, or depending on the host to bring food to us… which occasionally results in missing out on the famous mango pudding everyone else keeps talking about. The struggle is real.To wrap things up, Chantiq takes full control of the show with a hilarious Q&A session, putting “Uncle Boy” (Alex) on the spot about his most embarrassing “horse hairstyle” from the past. She even asks Zyana a bold question: if she had her sight back then, would she have been brave enough to ask a handsome guy for his number? No pressure. 😄It’s festive, funny, heartfelt, and full of family moments — exactly the kind of chaos we love on Zelocast.Join us for an episode packed with laughter, stories, and Raya vibes.✨ Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we are still champions.🎵 This podcast episode is proudly brought to you by Zelotones Official.Zelotones is an independent and inclusive band that brings together visually and cognitively impaired musicians with non-disabled collaborators, all working as equals. Episode 38 : Back in Time, To Relive a Moment
Welcome to Episode 38 of Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, where we always remind ourselves of one simple truth: together we make a difference, and win or lose, we are still champions. 🏆This episode was recorded on the 19th day of Ramadan, which means the fasting month is slowly approaching its final stretch — a perfect time for reflection, memories, and the occasional emotional moment (don’t worry, we balance it with plenty of laughter too).Zyana kicks things off by sharing a fascinating book she just finished: Before the Coffee Gets Cold. The story revolves around a mysterious café in Tokyo where customers can travel back in time… but there are strict rules. You can’t change the present, you must sit in a specific haunted seat, and most importantly — you must finish your coffee before it gets cold… or you might end up stuck in time forever. No pressure. ☕Inspired by the book, the crew starts imagining their own time-travel wishes. Alex opens up about wanting to go back and spend more time with his late grandmother — especially to take back the childhood arguments and simply listen more. Ben reflects on the confusing period after his first accident as a teenager, wishing he had discovered the motivational books that later helped rebuild his confidence much earlier.Zyana shares a deeply touching memory of her late father — her hero — who used to message her every time it rained just to make sure she got home safely. Safe to say… there were a few emotional moments in the studio.Of course, we eventually jump forward to the future — where Alex and Ben have one very important dream: becoming rich enough to watch Arsenal win ten straight seasons live at the Emirates Stadium. A perfectly reasonable goal, honestly. ⚽And because Zelocast can’t stay serious forever, we lighten things up with a chaotic round of “Would You Rather” — debating things like sending a romantic message to the wrong person… or accidentally complaining about your friends in the same group chat they’re in. Absolute nightmare fuel. 😅Join us for a heartfelt, funny, and reflective episode about appreciating the past, dreaming about the future, and learning to embrace the present moment — while your coffee is still warm.Zelotones is an independent and inclusive band that brings together visually and cognitively impaired musicians with non-disabled collaborators, all working as equals. Episode 37 : Who is Mr. Engineer?!
Get ready, ZeloFam — it’s finally time to meet the man behind the knobs, buttons, and mysterious audio magic. 🎚️✨In Episode 37 of Zelocast: Glow with the Flow, we shine the spotlight on the newest member of the crew: Mr. Engineer, also known as A.G.But here’s the twist — he’s not just the sound wizard behind the scenes… he’s family.A.G. is Zyana’s younger brother and Alex’s brother-in-law, which officially makes Zelotones a family operation (sorry Ben, you’re still our honorary adopted member 😆).In this episode, A.G. shares his journey into music — starting at just 15 years old as a drummer in a military band before deciding the bassist looked cooler… so he switched instruments. From rocking out to legends like Metallica and Nirvana to performing with the more soulful, acoustic, sometimes very jiwang vibes of Zelotones — his musical path has been anything but boring. We also dive into:🎙️ The Birth of ZelocastHow A.G.’s diploma in music and sound production helped spark the idea for this podcast.🎸 Musical InspirationsIncluding a shoutout to bass legend Jason Newsted.⚽ The Arsenal VirusHow Alex managed to recruit both A.G. and Ben into Arsenal fandom.🎧 Ear Contact Over Eye ContactHow musicians perform together when visual cues aren’t possible. It’s funny, heartfelt, and a little chaotic — the perfect introduction to the guy who makes sure we actually sound good every episode.Because behind every podcast… there’s always someone quietly fixing everyone else’s mistakes. 😄Together we make a difference.Win or lose, we are still champions. 🏆✨This podcast episode is proudly brought to you by Zelotones Official.Zelotones is an independent and inclusive band that brings together visually and cognitively impaired musicians with non-disabled collaborators, all working as equals.Every member has a voice in song selection, musical arrangements, creative direction, and the future of the band.More than just a concept, Zelotones demonstrates what true inclusion looks like through everyday collaboration. Episode 36 : CNY X Ramadan
In this episode of Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, we’re back in the studio… but mentally, we’re still chilling in Batam. 🏖️ The post-staycation glow is real, and we can’t stop talking about how life across the border just feels slower, calmer, and slightly less “rush-hour-everywhere” compared to Singapore. But Episode 36 isn’t just about vacation vibes — it’s about the ultimate festive crossover: Chinese New Year meets Ramadan. 🧧🌙 Yes, the calendars decided to collide this year, and we break down why the lunar dates shift 10–11 days earlier annually (without turning it into a history lecture, promise).Ben takes the spotlight to share his CNY highlights — from reunion dinners (rescheduled because adulting is hard) to the classic orange exchanges. We also attempt to unpack the mystery of the lion dance — how they leap around like acrobats and somehow leave behind “blessings”… and occasionally suspiciously specific lottery numbers. 👀Then we ease into the first days of Ramadan. Alex keeps it real about the “lagging” adjustment period — no food, no water, just vibes until sunset. Zyana reminds us it’s not just about hunger; it’s about reflection, empathy, and giving back. And of course, we take you into the Ramadan Bazaar through our noses — navigating crowded stalls by tracking the scent of goreng pisang and burgers. Alex even claims not seeing all that food is a hidden fasting advantage. Fair point. 😅Festive, funny, reflective, and full of heart — because no matter the season, we Glow with the Flow. ✨Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆

Episode 35 : Celebrating Birthdays in Batam Island
In this special episode of Zelocast – Glow with the Flow, we ditch the studio and go international… well, sort of. 🌊🎉 This one is recorded straight from a hotel lobby in Batam, where Alex and Zyana are celebrating double birthdays — Chantiq on Feb 13 and Alex on the 18th. Cake, chaos, and ferry tickets included.Ever wondered how a visually impaired couple prepares for an overseas trip? Zyana spills the truth: it’s equal parts strategy and controlled chaos. From hunting down the best junior suite deals to packing a mini “pharmacy” and extra kitchen towels (because you never know), preparation is serious business. The adventure starts at a packed ferry terminal — with everything from super helpful staff to one very grumpy immigration officer who clearly skipped the “priority queue” memo. Once in Batam, though, it’s all good vibes: incredible customer service, warm hospitality, and the legendary Padang-style dining experience where dishes flood the table and you only pay for what you touch (dangerous, honestly). And then comes the real chaos — an indoor playground. Alex screaming on a 360-degree spinning car like his life depends on it. Zyana attempting to balance inside a giant inflatable water wheel like a determined hamster. Zero dignity. Maximum fun.Through the laughter, they reflect on what it truly means to travel independently as persons with disabilities — proving that adventure isn’t about perfection, it’s about courage. It’s spontaneous, hilarious, heartfelt, and very much on the flow. 🌟And don’t forget to check out our latest music video for “Merajuk” on YouTube!Together we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

Episode 34 : Ben’s Valentine Confession?!
Welcome to Episode 34 — where love is in the air, ang baos are floating around, and the fasting month is just around the corner. Yes, it’s a full-on festive crossover episode and we are here for it.The highlight? Ben’s Valentine Confession. 👀 Our favorite keyboardist opens up about his dating history (yes, there were two girlfriends!) and boldly shares his dream girl checklist: intelligent, funny, and — most importantly — must be ready to dance the cha-cha. Standards? High. We respect it. 💃Meanwhile, Alex and Zyana rewind to their own love origin story — back when impressing your crush meant recording songs onto cassettes and hoping the DJ wouldn’t ruin the intro. They also revisit the legendary mystery caller known only as “Dolmat” (iconic, honestly). The crew dives into how attraction works when you’re blind — where a sweet voice, personality, and those “internal features” matter way more than looks. It’s warm, chaotic, nostalgic, and full of heart.Love, laughter, and just the right amount of drama — because together we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

Episode 33 : Independent, from Love Ones to Friends
Welcome to Episode 33 — pull up a chair and come sit with us, because this one’s equal parts big updates and deep feelings. We’re talking about what independence really means… and spoiler alert: it’s not always neat or fast, but it is powerful.First up — some exciting news! Zelotones is officially rebranding as an inclusive and independent band 🎉 And yes, we’ve added a “normal man” to the team (our sound engineer), because real inclusivity isn’t about labels — it’s about everyone bringing their strengths to the table, whether that’s visual impairment, cognitive challenges, or just really good ears. The heart of this episode gets beautifully real as we talk about parenting, protection, and learning when to let go. Alex shares stories of his super-protective mum waiting for him at the school canteen every day, and his late grandmother who was his ultimate tag-team partner in his early school years. Zyana reflects on her hero dad, and a powerful moment when her mum realised that stepping back allowed friends — and confidence — to step forward.Ben drops a wholesome milestone too: learning to handle household chores like washing toilets and plates so he could serve others while his caregiver was away. Small actions, big independence energy. We wrap things up with laughs in a fun round of “I Can Do It Myself,” where household chores turn into riddles and chaos naturally follows. It’s heartfelt, funny, and full of reminders that independence looks different for everyone — and that’s okay. Together, we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

Episode 32 : Technology Then & Now
In Episode 32, “Technology Then & Now,” the Zelocast crew hops into a time machine — and trust us, the contrast is wild.Zyana and Alex take us back to the very “vintage” early ’90s, reminiscing about the days when assistive tech was heavy, loud, and definitely not subtle. Think massive Perkins Braillers that doubled as gym equipment, and those iconic talking clocks with the unmistakable “chicken sound” that every visually impaired student somehow owned. They also relive the pain of recording songs off the radio… only for the DJ to talk through the intro (a true betrayal), and the struggle of hauling multi-volume Braille textbooks to class like it was leg day every day.Fast-forward to today, and suddenly it’s all AI, smartphones, and magic-in-your-pocket vibes. Zyana shares how she now uses ChatGPT to tell red chillies from green ones in the kitchen and make sure her outfit colors actually match (no more accidental fashion chaos). The crew also geeks out over what’s next — from AI headsets that announce bus arrivals to audio descriptions that finally let them experience movies like Star Wars instead of just listening along. With Alex’s trademark Arsenal metaphors, plenty of laughs, and a high-tech round of “True or False,” this episode is both a celebration of how far we’ve come and a hopeful peek into a more inclusive future.Tune in and Glow with the Flow in the digital age — because no matter the tech, together we make a difference. 🚀✨

Episode 31 : Being Helpful, Not Hurtful
Welcome to Episode 31 — and yes, it’s a special one because we’re celebrating Zyana’s birthday! 🎉 (She’s still waiting on Ben’s mysterious birthday gift… no pressure, Ben 👀). While the cake’s imaginary, the conversation is very real as we dive into a topic that affects everyday life: Being Helpful, Not Hurtful. This episode is all about how the public can support persons with disabilities without making things awkward, uncomfortable, or accidentally offensive. Along the way, we share some laugh-out-loud moments — like the time Alex was on a train and genuinely thought a group of strangers was Zyana talking to him… because their voices sounded exactly the same. Awkward? Absolutely. Hilarious? Also yes.We break down simple but important tips, like saying a person’s name first when speaking in a group (trust us, it helps), or why a gentle tap on the shoulder or cane works way better than a random “hello” shouted into the void of a crowded station.Got questions about guiding? Here’s a big one: please don’t lift our white canes 🙏. The best way to help is letting us hold your elbow or shoulder so we can follow your movement naturally. We also share how we “see” the world differently — through sounds, textures, and even smells (yes, Subway has a very specific scent, and Peninsula Plaza has a vibe). Most importantly, we remind our friends in the PWD community not to go full “action” mode when help is offered. Kindness goes both ways. With patience, communication, and a little empathy, we can build a more inclusive society together. We wrap things up with a fun round of “Where Are We Now?” with Chantiq — because no Zelocast episode is complete without a game.Together, we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

Episode 30 : Commuting with Compassion
We’ve officially hit the big 3–0! 🎉 Welcome to Episode 30 of Zelocast, a milestone episode where we pause, reflect… and then immediately dive back into the chaos of everyday life. This week’s episode, “Commuting with Compassion,” takes on the sometimes stressful, sometimes surprisingly wholesome world of public transport in Singapore. From viral moments of seat-demanding aunties to that controversial train video with a rowdy kid and a silent parent, we unpack it all — with honesty, empathy, and a bit of side-eye.We talk about why priority seats matter, but also why kindness works better than entitlement. Zyana and Alex even drop their personal “pro-tips” for surviving crowded cabins — including how white canes double up as a mental GPS to find empty spots (while trying not to whack too many shins 😅).Ben opens up about a more vulnerable side, sharing why he hasn’t taken a train in over eight years after his second accident affected his balance and leg strength. It’s real, raw, and eye-opening.And because we like to keep things chill, we share our favourite commuting hack: if the train’s too packed, just hop off and wait — because different trains really do have different hearts. 💛To end on a lighter note, we wrap things up with a fun round of “Riddle of Roads,” testing our transport knowledge and wits. It’s heartfelt, funny, and full of perspective. Tune in as we talk about making Singapore a little more inclusive — one commute at a time.Together, we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

Episode 29 : Inside the Change
Welcome back to Week Two of 2026 with Episode 29: Inside the Change! 🛠️✨First things first — thank you, ZeloFam, for being patient with us while we wrestle with some YouTube technical hiccups. The struggle is real 😅 (psst… you can still catch the full New Year episode on Spotify). This week, the crew gets honest about how dreams shift, goals evolve, and life doesn’t always follow the plan you had at age ten. Alex takes us way back to his childhood — when his biggest dream was to be a bus driver, complete with cycling from bench to bench pretending to pick up passengers. Iconic. We talk about learning to adapt when life throws a curveball — whether that means switching career paths or “renovating” your own skills to fit a new season. And because we keep it real, Alex and Zyana share a very human throwback to moving into their BTO in 2014… washing plates in a plastic baby tub because there was no kitchen sink yet. Glamorous? No. Memorable? Absolutely. From surviving on $10 for two weeks to leaning on quiet family support, this episode is about discipline, resilience, and trusting the process. Ben wraps it up with a reminder: don’t compare your renovation journey to anyone else’s. Move at your own pace — there is light at the end of the tunnel if you keep going.Together, we make a difference. Win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

Episode 28 : New Year, New Me?
Happy New Year, ZeloFam! 🎆 We’re kicking off 2026 strong with Episode 28 : “New Year, New Me?” — and yes, we know resolutions sound a bit cliché… but hear us out. Who says change can only start on January 1st anyway? This episode is all about proving that willpower beats buzzwords. Alex shares a major wake-up call that pushed him to fight for diabetic remission — from switching up his diet to committing to intense workouts (and dropping a solid 14kg along the way 👏). Zyana opens up about dealing with fatigue and a scary body-age reality check, then flipping the script with cycling and losing an incredible 17kg. Absolute champion move. And then there’s Ben — our resident fitness beast — casually leveling up by challenging himself to hit 300,000 steps a month like it’s no big deal. It’s motivating, honest, a little chaotic, and full of that Glow with the Flow energy. Because whenever the spark hits, that’s the right time to start. Together, we make a difference — and win or lose, we’re always champions. 🏆✨

Episode 27 : Wrapped Up 2025
Episode 27 is finally here — and yep, we’re officially Wrapped Up 2025!The crew is kicking back on a very real, very self-paid staycation (budget but vibes still there) to look back on a year that was busy, meaningful, and just the right amount of chaotic. Zyana is still fighting off a stubborn cough, but somehow Alex’s championship aura worked miracles — her voice came back just in time for the Sentosa shows. Coincidence? We think not.We take a nostalgic stroll through some big highlights: releasing “Merajuk” and “Mummy Rosemary,” and hearing our songs played on RIA 89.7 FM (still unreal, honestly). There’s also a heartfelt reflection on a spiritual journey, plus a moment of silence for Alex’s hair — a true sacrifice.Thank you for riding with us through six months of raw, real conversations. As we look ahead to 2026, expect new music (maybe even an English track 👀), more heart, more honesty, and the same promise we live by: no matter the ups and downs, we’ll always Glow with the Flow. ✨

Episode 26 : Ben Loo, Life as a DeafBlind
Episode 26 is here — and it’s real, raw, and still gloriously chaotic. We’re welcoming our third guest for the year, Ben Loo, who shares his powerful journey of living as a DeafBlind individual diagnosed with Usher Syndrome. From navigating vision (RP) and hearing loss in his early 30s to completely pivoting from life as an IT engineer, Ben opens up about facing fear, stress, and the unknown — and choosing to move forward anyway. He talks about rebuilding confidence, finding strength through friends, staying active with things like bowling, and even landing a surprise cameo as a reflexologist in a Channel 8 drama. Proof that life doesn’t stop — it just takes unexpected turns. And of course, it wouldn’t be Zelocast without some chaos: Alex finally meets his match as football loyalties clash — Arsenal vs Newcastle United.Inspirational stories, bad jokes, real talk, and classic banter — this one hits hard (in the best way). 🎧🔥

Welcome back to Episode 25, where we jump headfirst into the wonderfully messy topic of Competition. And no, it’s not just about sports and trophies — although Alex is busy soaking in Arsenal’s latest win (as expected). We get into how competition shows up in real life: comparing yourself to others, dealing with outside pressure, and trying to stay motivated when everything feels a little chaotic.Zyana shares a seriously inspiring moment — representing Singapore at a Malaysian Braille Quran recitation competition while recovering from a fever and still clinching second place in the Murattal category. Champion energy, honestly. The convo stays light, funny, and real as we talk about why the experience, the lessons, and the growth matter way more than fame or just winning. Because at the end of the day, we rise together — and win or lose, we’re still champions. 🏆✨

From Zyana’s “very chaotic” morning routine (even with Alex as the unofficial barista) to Alex insisting he needs a perfectly clear mind before leaving the house, the stories fly fast.Ben even opens up about his own routines — jogging, reading, juggling work, practice, and, of course, defending their championship belts like it’s nothing. It’s honest, funny, messy, and totally relatable.
