Episode 426: Embracing PEACE with Texas State Senator Brian Birdwell - Audio

Co-hosts Marlene McMichael and Cathy Endebrock visit with Lt. Colonel (ret.) Brian Birdwell. Now, a Texas State Senator, Birdwell was severely injured in the 9-11 attack on the Pentagon. The nose of American Airlines Flight 77 breached the Pentagon just yards from Birdwell, leaving him with burns over 60 percent of his body. The State Senator shares his compelling journey, which began with coming to peace with whatever decision his Supreme Commander made about whether Birdwell lived or died. Four years and 39 surgeries later, Birdwell was scarred but recovered. He now represents Senate District 22 in the Texas Legislature. Birdwell shares how the experience strengthened his family and, especially, his relationship with God.
