Based on the name, it’s not surprising that Paul specialises in selling rare seeds and seedlings for vegetables and flowers. Paul’s story is an interesting one as he talks about his journey from finding an unusual niche and selling in person, to adding ecommerce to his business model. It is a very non-digital product, and highly specialised, and he has evolved gradually into ecommerce, rather than starting with online selling. That makes for some interesting stories and great insights that every Shopify merchant can learn from. Just about every story, for every Shopify merchant, makes for great listening and Paul’s is unusual and special because of his niche. With a specific niche, comes a specific market of customers, and Paul's business is evolving organically and growing steadily. Paul made a tree change to start the business, finishing up as a city accountant and moving to a country property to invest his energies in his real passion - Growing. This transition helps make Paul’s story even more special. Perth Hills Veggie Co launched in July 2015, with a focus on physical selling, at farmer’s markets and the like. Now, the business is an online plant nursery and seed merchant focussed on growing the best heirloom vegetable seedlings. They also offer a range of plants, seedlings and seeds that includes culinary and medicinal herbs, super hot and culinary chillies plus annual and perennial flowers.
