In September of 1978, at just 15 years old, she found herself alone on the side of the road, trying to hitchhike from California back to Las Vegas. The solitude weighed heavily on her, but she wouldn’t be alone for long. A man pulled over, offering her the company and ride she had hoped for. But what she hadn’t expected was that the man’s intentions would turn her journey into a nightmare. In that moment, she realized that being alone might have been the safer, better choice. The man who first appeared kind and paternal, similar to a grandfather, would soon reveal a darkness beyond belief.
