Episode 50: Exploring the Warrior Archetype in Psychedelics (feat. Tim Welch)

from This One Time On Psychedelics · host Ryan Sprague

If there is one archetype I have been exploring heavily this past year in the plant medicine space, it is the archetype of the warrior. What I’ve come to realize is that this archetype is extremely vital to be able to tap into within this space as, along with the typical ways in which we view this archetype as a society, this archetype allows for increased courage, willpower &, paradoxically, vulnerability within the plant medicine space & ultimately our lives as a whole. Todays guest on the show is someone who is no stranger to the archetype of the warrior & is someone who when I first met, I could tell had mastered the sometimes tricky balance within this archetype. When connecting with plant medicines within this archetype, it is crucial to have this balance as without it, we can quickly find ourselves moving from having a “experience” into an “ordeal.” He is a MMA fighter, holding a professional record of 14 wins & 6 losses, is the host of the Red Hawk podcast & co host of the Timbo Suga show, is a world renowned trainer of MMA superstars such as Sugar Sean O’Malley, is the owner of TW BJJ MMA in Peoria Arizona & if all of this wasn’t enough, is someone who is highly passionate about the benefits of conscious, responsible plant medicine consumption, which, as we will be exploring within this episode, has been a big asset in allowing him to find the balance within the archetype of the warrior & beyond. This is an episode I am FIRED up to share with all of you & is one that is sure to open your minds & hearts to what can happen when we enter our plant medicine experiences with courage, willpower & vulnerability.Show Notes:(3:10) Intro & Tim’s introduction to plant medicines. (9:59) The fighter-5MeO link & cold plunges.(16:05) Breath Work.(21:05) Methods of balancing the use of plant medicines in your life.(28:00) Microdocing.(33:07) The elimination of the stigma & the many benefits of marijuana & other planet medicines & more.(52:00) Lessons learned from these amazing medicines & joyful experiences.(1:00:15) Outro & one last question. This episode was produced by Mazel Tov Media in Quincy, Massachusetts.https://www.highlyoptimized.com@therealryansprague
