Episode 53 - What does trauma have to do with it?

from Holistically Awakened · host Laurence Annez

Think your emotional trauma has nothing to do with your PCOS or your hormone problems?? Think again. This doesn’t have to be MAJOR trauma p.s. trauma is anything that causes us to disconnect from ourselves, our sense of value, and from the present moment (Gabor Maté) Trauma is any circumstances or perception that causes you to lose connection with your lovability, your value, and your right place in the world (Karen Curry Parker) It’s energy stuck in the body Trauma can come from experiences in childhood around rejection, fear, panic, feeling unseen or unheard, etc. It can affect our DNA, stress response, hormones, and our nervous and immune systems. The science of epigenetics demonstrates that trauma creates biological change, which can last for generations. Today on the podcast I’m talking about the missing piece to healing physical symptoms, how trauma affects our lives and our physical health, the blocked energy centers associated with hormonal problems, the importance of regulating the nervous system, how to process emotional trauma using the somatic body and the subconscious, the difference between mindset and body work, and more!
