Episode 60: Learning to Question Everything & Become Individuated With the Help of Plant Medicines (feat. Mark Steeves)

from This One Time On Psychedelics · host Ryan Sprague

As I imagine many of you listening to this show can agree with, when I first began experimenting with psychedelics & plant medicines, many members of my friends & family group began questioning my path. They would attempt to place their own fears & anxieties surrounding these medicines onto me with the intention of protecting me & in doing so, I was able to flip the script on the story I was telling myself about these actions. At first, I wanted to Rebel & tell myself I knew what I was doing, however, when I really sat into it, I took these suggestions from my friends & family as opportunities to continue asking myself why I was so interested in exploring these medicines & in doing so, I was able to find a deep sense of belief in myself & belief in what my heart was calling for. This allowed me to integrate more of the medicine that psychedelics were supplying for me at that time, which was to find strength in my own intuition & have faith in what my own unique expression of life was calling for. Todays guest on the show is someone who knows what this pattern feels like in his own life & has not only moved through it in his own way, but has also found the golden thread within it & created a platform for others who are experiencing similar challenges with family to find solace in. He is the host of the “My family thinks I’m crazy” podcast, which dives down some of the deepest rabbit holes possible within the world & seeks to question everything we think we know about life to continue illuminating the pure mystery that is life. This episode is sure to be a deep dive into not only his experiences, but also what meaning he has made out of those experiences & how his life has benefitted from them as a result.Show Notes:(4:32) Mark’s initial call that got him into psychedelics.(15:57) How Mark’s view on cannabis shifted.(20:32) The first time trying mushrooms. (28:33) Finding something interesting in the forest…(35:32) Check out Freedombuilderz.com!(38:06) How the podcast began, after a dark night of the soul.(46:34) What is human design?(59:27) What is the purpose of plant medicine?(1:02:39) Our sole mission here…(1:10:00) Where you can find Mark!(1:10:44) Mark’s final piece of advice for a first time plant medicine! This episode was produced by Mazel Tov Media in Quincy, Massachusetts.https://www.highlyoptimized.com@therealryansprague
