Episode 61: Are You a People Pleaser?

from Leadership Becomes Her: Simple, Strategic Solutions for Christian Women Who Lead · host Becky Burroughs

Hey, Friend, How many times have you said, “I’m a people pleaser” as an explanation for why you are working so hard to make everyone else happy? You are not alone. A 2024 poll by YouGov found that 49% of American adults consider themselves people pleasers. In addition, 92% reported that they engage in people-pleasing behaviors from time-to-time. In today’s episode, the first of a three-part series on people pleasing, I share some reasons why people are committed to people pleasing. Is people pleasing a good trait? It can be. Is people pleasing unhealthy? It can also be that. In next week’s episode, I pose the question: Is People Pleasing Your Leadership Blind Spot? And in the last of the three-part series: People Pleasing vs. Self Care. I hope you give this series a listen. I pray this blesses you. Becky
