Episode 62: Respect

Respect is a hot topic among educators today. There seems to be a lack of respect in school and at home. Anytime I draw your attention to a problem, I want to also bring to our attention a solution. In order to create greater respect in our schools we need to do 2 things: 1: First we need to give ourselves respect. Show yourself admiration and due regard for your abilities, qualities, and achievements. 2: Speak and Act Respectful to others. Sounds simple right? Simple yes, but easy no. This approach will take time and patience just like anything we are trying to create. However, it is the only lasting solution. We must show respect for ourselves and others if we want to see greater respect from those we teach. This week your challenge is to strive to show yourself and others more respect.
