At 18 years old, his dreams of becoming a college football star were crushed when he was diagnosed with severe Crohn's Disease that decimated his body. He had to undergo chemotherapy to get it under control, but unfortunately he had his scholarships taken away. He joined a band, toured the country but in his 20's found himself broke and homeless. His parents offered him a place to stay where he was able to borrow his mom's car and do food deliveries while working on a real estate license.
