Episode 7 (Understanding the SSNIT Pensions Scheme and its Benefits)

Over the years, we have observed that a lot of employers and employees are unaware of their obligations and rights with respect to contributions to the national pension scheme. This has, in some cases, led to the destitution of some employees after retirement and also had legal implications for employers. Our guest for this episode is Mr Charles Garshong, the Head of Public Affairs of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT). Mr Garshong has in-depth knowledge of the Trust and its operations and has led extensive public communication initiatives aimed at educating the public on the mandate of SSNIT and the importance and benefits of fulfilling obligations under the Pensions regulations of Ghana.
