Episode 86: Duke Nukem 3D

from Legion Gaming Podcast · host Donny

Come get some! This week we're hailing to the king and uncovering the history and impact of 1996's Duke Nukem 3D. Duke originally started with a couple of side-scrolling platform shooters and once Apogee saw DOOM in 1993, they realized it was time to bring him into the world of 3D. From there, they renamed themselves 3D Realms and eventually released one of the earliest examples of an immersive first-person shooter based on familiar real world locations. We'll also talk about how Duke's signature personality came to be and how it's just as important to the game as its interactive and expansive levels.    0:00 - 27:00: Catch up and what we've been playing 27:28: Duke Nukem 3D   Email us: [email protected] Instagram: LegionGamingPodcast
