In Part 2, Dee Moore continues her conversation with chef Darren Ferguson, who shares the extraordinary final chapters of his kidney disease journey — including haemodialysis, living kidney donation, paired kidney exchange and ultimately receiving his sixth kidney transplant. Darren reflects on receiving his fourth transplant, returning to dialysis after transplant failure and the incredible gift of a fifth kidney from a close friend. That living donor kidney gave him approximately 11 years away from dialysis before eventually failing. After being told another transplant might not be possible, Darren was given another chance through the paired kidney exchange programme.
