Eric Benson-It's Time To Live

Today's guest is Eric Benson who I've known all his life because he is my cousin. Eric grew up in the Bronx in the streets selling drugs not to his liking, but it was a way of survival. As Eric got older, he became very good at what he did being a hustler until that fateful day when he killed someone. At the time of the killing, he was a young father of a son. The next time I heard about Eric, he was sentenced to life in prison for murder. He served 27 years and 6 months behind bars, but those 27 years and months were not in vain. He decided he wanted to better his life and by that he went to school in prison. He took advantage of those opportunities that some prisoners wouldn't to better himself. He got his associate degree, bachelor’s degree and his master’s degree. The day came when he was released and he was reformed and a changed man.
