Eskom profit after tax more than doubled from 14-billion-rand to 30-billlion rand

Eskom has reported improved financial and operational performance for the 2025-26 financial year. Profit after tax more than doubled from 14-billion-rand to 30-billlion rand. The power utility attributes its improved performance to a sharp focus on the systems recovery plan and strong leadership through executive competence and a reconstituted board.  Eskom has stressed that the municipal debt which currently stands at 119-billion-rand remains a structural threat to Eskom's financial sustainability.  Naledi Mabitsela-Ngcobo filed this report.
