Friday evening on the rooftop, with clear skies, warm Mediterranean air and another live band waiting in the wings. I opened the evening with a warm, soulful selection of House and Deep House, gradually building the groove as the rooftop settled into the weekend. From the deeper sounds of S.A.M., Chris Stussy and Saison to familiar favorites and a few more disco-leaning moments, the set was all about creating a comfortable atmosphere without letting it become background music. As the sun went down, the energy slowly climbed. A little more groove, a little more movement, and eventually a few bigger vocal moments — just enough to get everyone ready for what was coming next. The final stretch moved toward a more uplifting house sound, ending with Franky Rizardo's remix of “Moonlight To Sunrise.” Then it was time to hand the rooftop over to the live band.
