Now, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. — Galatians 5:11The cross saves, but it also offends. It strips us of every claim to righteousness and humbles our pride. Following Christ means denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and enduring hardship. Friendship with the world is enmity with God, yet the one who believes in Christ will never be put to shame.
