That is the final name of the restored city, and it is the promise that echoes through all of Scripture: God dwelling with His people. No temple will be needed in the new creation, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple. Everything else we long for—His presence, His face, His nearness—finds its yes in Christ, who is God with us. The final word is not exile but Emmanuel.
