because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, — Philippians 1:5The Gospel creates a new community—a body where every member belongs to every other. We are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, and that vertical communion spills into horizontal communion with the saints. Though we are many, we are one bread, one body; and if one member suffers, all suffer together.
