Every Member of the Hospice Team is Essential, Heartbeat Episode 212

from The Heart of Hospice Podcast · host Helen Bauer RN BSN CHPN

Thanks to the corona virus, we're using a lot of new terms - social distancing, COVID-19, pandemic, non-essential. While some members of the hospice team have been excluded from the care of patients, every discipline is essential to providing excellent patient care.  The IDT members most likely to be blocked from seeing patients and families are chaplains, social workers, aides, and volunteers.  Jerry and Helen want to remind hospice team members that all roles are necessary when it comes to the care of seriously ill patients.  Our patients need all the skills we can bring to have the best quality of life possible.  If you’re part of a hospice team, remind your coworkers they’re essential to the work you do.  The Heart of Hospice is here to support the important work being done at hospice agencies all over the country.  Find more information (and podcasts!) at theheartofhospice.com. Connect with Helen at [email protected], and with Jerry at [email protected].  Your journey still matters - you are The Heart of Hospice!
