Everything in the Bible is not true

Everything recorded in the Bible is truthfully reported, but not every statement spoken by people in Scripture should be accepted as doctrine. The book of Job demonstrates this principle. Job and his friends made many sincere statements about God, yet God later rebuked their words as lacking understanding. By comparing Job's statements with the broader teaching of Scripture, we discover that Satan is the one who steals, kills, and destroys, while God is the giver of life, healing, mercy, and restoration.
