Anointed deviations do not slow down your calling

I am a strong believer of staying focused and not deviating from your calling, because focused pursuits over time bring success. Whereas, deviations from your path slow down your calling to a standstill. However, we also have Holy Spirit inside us who knows how to navigate the ups and downs of a calling. This means that there may be seasons when Holy Spirit will direct you to take an anointed deviation that may appear to break your focus. The difference between an anointed deviation verses a self-appointed deviation is that an anointed deviation does not slow down the success of your calling. It will compliment it.     __________ 1 Kings 17:1–5 KJV, Acts 20:34 KJV, Ecclesiastes 10:19 KJV, 1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV, Proverbs 10:22 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

AI's Impact on Life, Relationships, and Calling

This week's office hours focused on discussing artificial intelligence and its impact on various aspects of life and work. Pastor Amos shared his recent experience attending a Google workshop in New York about integrating AI into higher education, explaining how AI is transforming productivity tools and creating new high-paying job opportunities in AI engineering and AI project management.  The discussion covered AI's potential to displace traditional jobs, particularly in fields like customer service and medical administration, while also exploring how AI can serve as a productivity tool for content creation and business development. Participants shared personal experiences using AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude, with some expressing concerns about privacy implications and the potential for AI to alter human personality and social interactions.  The conversation emphasized the importance of using AI as a tool rather than seeking spiritual guidance from it, and highlighted how CFE is shifting toward building community rather than just providing content. __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Don't assume an assignment is forever

God gives us assignments that are for a moment, season, or lifetime. As we are doing an assignment, we may not know which time frame it falls into. Therefore, it is important to stay connected to Holy Spirit and not assume an assignment from God is forever so that we can be open to hearing if (or when) a change in assignment comes. This is important because God's anointing for success follows His assignments. __________ Matthew 15:24 KJV, Matthew 10:5–7 KJV, Matthew 28:18–20 KJV, Acts 1:8–9 KJV, Acts 8:1 KJV, Acts 10:10–16 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Getting your spouse on board with the vision

Many married people are frustrated because their spouse doesn't believe in or support their vision. Why? Because God gave you the vision, not your spouse. Your faith has been activated to see something that doesn't exist yet, so you can believe the vision without seeing proof. However, your spouse may not have received a word from God about it, so they don't have a basis for faith yet, which means they will need to see some tangible proof. Let's explore the concept of asking God to provide your spouse with proof of success so your spouse can get on board with the vision.     __________ Deuteronomy 18:21-22 KJV, Joshua 3:7-13,17 KJV, Matthew 4:23-24 KJV, Amos 3:3 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Your feelings can discern your calling

As believers, we downplay our feelings and treat them like a bad guide. We do this because many of us have been taught not to trust our feelings. However, God created our feelings, just like He created our body and spirit, so why would we throw away something He created? Instead of throwing our feelings away, let's learn to use them. A born again believer who studies and meditates the Word consistently can trust their feelings as a guide to discern their calling. __________ Genesis 2:7 KJV, 1 Thessalonians 5:23 NLT, Hebrews 4:12 NLT, 1 Corinthians 12:14–15 KJV, Matthew 15:32 NLT, Mark 5:29 NLT, Acts 17:27 NLT, Romans 14:3 NLT, 1 John 3:20 NLT, Hebrews 5:14 KJV, Proverbs 20:5 KJV, Nehemiah 8:10 KJV, John 4:34 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Understand the season of your calling

In John 7, Jesus demonstrates the importance of discerning the right time, season, and place for your calling. Although His brothers pressured Him to go publicly to Jerusalem and prove Himself, Jesus refused to be influenced by people who did not believe in His assignment, recognizing that His time had not yet fully come. He did not recklessly put Himself or His mission in danger just to prove a point. In the same way, just because God has placed something in your heart does not mean you should immediately pursue it publicly or at full force. Some assignments require you to remain in the background, move quietly, or pivot as the Holy Spirit leads until the right time comes. Fulfilling your calling requires constantly listening to the Holy Spirit and discerning when to move, when to wait, when to be visible, and when to remain hidden. __________ John 7:1-13 NIV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

    Hearing God Correctly

Your calling unfolds through many decisions, both small and large, making it essential to clearly hear and correctly interpret the voice of God. While God may initiate extraordinary forms of communication through audible voices, visions, dreams, angels, or other people, believers can consistently recognize His direction through their born-again spirit as their minds are renewed by His Word. Learning to hear God requires distinguishing His simple, God-honoring voice from our own complex, self-focused thoughts, trusting His provision rather than interpreting His direction through scarcity, and patiently allowing Him to confirm what He is saying. It also requires proper theology and a biblical worldview, because wrong beliefs and worldly thinking can cause us to misinterpret even what we have clearly heard. As we grow in the Word, learn to recognize God's peace, trust His unlimited provision, and resist rushing to conclusions, we become better equipped to hear, understand, and follow His direction for every decision that shapes our calling. __________ Notes & Scriptures: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/voice Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

During this week's office hours Pastor Amos led discussions on hearing God's voice and fielded questions from participants. Micah shared his experience learning to recognize God's voice through short statements that align with Scripture over 25 years ago, and discussed his recent receipt of compensation from the Flint water crisis lawsuit after 11-12 years. Rosalind discussed dreams she had been experiencing about marriage and relationships, connecting them to her past sexual trauma and questioning how God communicates through such "strange" methods. Stephanie shared her experience persevering through a hurricane recovery process to receive government assistance for her roof, emphasizing the importance of being persistent and providing complete information. The conversation then shifted to practical topics including using AI assistants like Claude for business research and removing phone numbers from spam call databases. Doyin and Deborah contributed insights about predestination and the difference between research and clinical mindsets when studying the Bible, with Deborah sharing her experience taking a psychology licensing exam and learning to approach Scripture from a clinical perspective rather than just an academic one. __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Everything in the Bible is not true

Everything recorded in the Bible is truthfully reported, but not every statement spoken by people in Scripture should be accepted as doctrine. The book of Job demonstrates this principle. Job and his friends made many sincere statements about God, yet God later rebuked their words as lacking understanding. By comparing Job's statements with the broader teaching of Scripture, we discover that Satan is the one who steals, kills, and destroys, while God is the giver of life, healing, mercy, and restoration. Job serves as an example of why biblical doctrine must be established from the whole counsel of Scripture rather than from isolated verses.  __________ Job 1:21 NLT, Job 1:8–12 NLT, John 10:10 KJV, Job 5:17–18 NLT, 1 Peter 2:24 NLT, Job 7:18 NLT, James 1:13–14 NLT, Job 13:26 NLT, Jeremiah 31:33–34 NLT, Isaiah 43:25 KJV, Psalm 103:10–12 KJV, Job 38:1–4 NLT, Job 40:8 NLT, Job 42:1–3 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Study all sides before drawing a conclusion

Biblical truth is found by studying all of Scripture rather than building doctrine from a few isolated verses. At times, certain passages may seem to support an idea when read alone, but a broader study often reveals a different conclusion. The Bible's teaching on slavery illustrates this principle. While some passages instruct slaves on how to live within their circumstances, other passages reveal God's condemnation of man stealing, His desire for freedom, and His view of believers as brothers and sisters in Christ. By examining the full counsel of Scripture, we can better understand God's heart and avoid drawing conclusions based on only a portion of His Word. __________ 1 Peter 2:18–20 NLT, Ephesians 6:5 NLT, Exodus 21:16 NIV, 1 Timothy 1:8–10 KJV, Philemon 1:4–10 NLT, Philemon 1:15–19 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:21 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

The truth is found by studying in context

Biblical truth is discovered by studying Scripture in its proper context rather than building doctrine from isolated verses. Passages on remarriage after divorce and giving on the first day of the week illustrate this principle, showing that Paul was often addressing specific situations, offering pastoral counsel, or using examples to communicate broader spiritual truths. When these passages are read in their full context, it becomes clear that they should not automatically be treated as universal doctrines. Careful study of the surrounding verses, the author's intent, and the overall teaching of Scripture is essential for rightly understanding and applying God's Word. __________ 1 Corinthians 7:39 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:15 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:36–40 NLT, Romans 7:2 NLT, Romans 7:1–4 NLT, 1 Corinthians 16:2 NLT, 1 Corinthians 16:1–4 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

    The Bible Records Opinions

An important truth we must understand is that the Bible contains both direct commands from God and opinions from others. In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul carefully identifies when he is speaking by the Lord's command and when he is giving his own Spirit-guided judgment. This teaches us that not everything recorded in Scripture carries the same level of authority. While these opinions are inspired, wise, and profitable for our instruction, we must be careful not to elevate them to the level of a direct command from God. Recognizing this distinction helps us rightly divide the Word of truth and avoid turning opinions into doctrine. __________ 1 Corinthians 7:6–7 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:10–11 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:12–16 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:25–28 NLT, 1 Corinthians 7:40 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Some parts of Scripture are descriptive and are not intended to establish doctrine

Some passages in Scripture are descriptive, meaning they record historical events and actions without intending to establish doctrine or serve as commands for all believers. While these accounts provide valuable lessons and reveal God's work throughout history, doctrine should be built primarily from passages that clearly teach and prescribe God's will. Careful interpretation requires considering the context, timing, and overall message of Scripture so that believers do not mistakenly turn historical narratives into universal commands. Since all Scripture is inspired by God, we should study it with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, compare passages, and examine multiple translations to understand God's message. Not every passage is meant to establish doctrine, as some Scriptures describe events while others instruct us how to live. Can We All Be Like Elon Musk with Multiple Ventures, What's the Difference Between Calling and Provision, and Other Interesting Topics

This week's Office Hours focused on balancing faith, calling, and entrepreneurship. One participant sought guidance about managing an existing tutoring business while considering a new food-related venture. The advice emphasized discerning whether new opportunities align with God's timing and calling, noting that sources of provision should support rather than distract from one's primary purpose, similar to how Apostle Paul's tent-making ministry supported his apostolic work. Suggestions included testing the new business concept through blogging or community-building before making a larger commitment.  Another participant offered a business connection in the childcare industry, while the conversation broadened into the challenges of balancing multiple ventures. Participants discussed the importance of maintaining focus and, when pursuing several projects, shifting from doing all the work personally to leading, managing, and delegating effectively.  A caregiver entrepreneur shared plans to expand services through a nonprofit foundation, receiving encouragement to focus directly on the larger vision rather than investing significant time in smaller preliminary projects. The group also explored the relationship between faith and business success, discussing the differences between worldly systems and kingdom principles, the value of small businesses, and the importance of thinking boldly about God-given visions and opportunities.  The meeting concluded with encouragement to pursue one's calling without limiting ambitions, announcements regarding upcoming ministry activities and Bible study opportunities, and discussion of an upcoming mission trip to South Africa focused on youth evangelism. __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

    Everybody can speak in tongues

There is a distinction between the public gift of tongues and private prayer in tongues. In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul is discussing ministry gifts given to different members of the church for the benefit of the body, which is why not everyone is called to speak in tongues publicly, just as not everyone is an apostle, prophet, or teacher. In 1 Corinthians 14, however, Paul describes a personal use of tongues in which believers speak directly to God and edify themselves. While public tongues in a church gathering must be accompanied by interpretation to benefit others, private tongues can be practiced freely as a form of personal prayer and communion with God. __________ 1 Corinthians 12:27–30 NLT, 1 Corinthians 14:18–19 NLT, 1 Corinthians 14:26–28 NLT, 1 Corinthians 14:1–4 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Correct Your Mistakes Before They Become Eternal Consequences

Your mistakes may have consequences, but as long as you have life, there is still an opportunity to make things right before those consequences become eternal. Do not let guilt or condemnation keep you from correcting what is wrong. Acknowledge your mistakes, seek forgiveness, and turn away from sin. __________ Exodus 20:14 NLT, 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 NLT, Deuteronomy 22:22–24 NIV, John 8:3–11 NLT, Matthew 19:3–9 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Be honest with God if you lack faith

There is a popular expression that says, "Fake it until you make it." Some people have applied this concept to faith; however, you can't fake faith until you get it. Pretending to be in faith doesn't give you the power to receive the things you desire. Instead, be honest with God if you lack faith, and He will help you.     __________ Joshua 1:8 KJV, Matthew 14:28–31 KJV, Mark 9:17–25 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

God designed faith to create things

We can use faith to receive healing and overcome life's challenges. However, God's original design for faith was to create. This is especially interesting because, as entrepreneurs, our very work is to create and bring new things to the marketplace. This means our primary tool for success is faith. __________ Hebrews 11:3 KJV, John 1:14–15 KJV, John 1:1–3 KJV, Genesis 1:1 KJV, Genesis 1:3–5 NLT, Genesis 1:27–28 KJV, Romans 12:3 KJV, Hebrews 11:7 KJV, Genesis 6:14–16 NLT, Mark 9:23 NKJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Should you try that assignment again?

In this excerpt from Office Hours, Pastor Amos uses a football analogy to explain that a "loss" or a closed venture (such as his Atlanta church) does not mean God did not call you to it. It may simply mean the venture was mismanaged and requires reviewing the "game footage" to learn from the experience and try again. __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

God has made provisions for your faith shortcomings

God desires for us to win every fight of faith and walk perfectly in our calling. However, He knew we would have faith shortcomings that would cause us to lose a few faith fights and take a few wrong turns along the journey of our calling. With this foreknowledge, before He called you, He made provisions for your faith shortcomings so you would still win in the end. __________ Luke 22:31–34 NLT, Luke 22:54–62 NLT, Matthew 13:23 KJV, Romans 12:2 KJV, Matthew 14:25–31 KJV, John 21:15–19 NLT __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

You are perfect for your calling

God chooses people to do things who seem like the wrong choice to normal eyes. For example, He calls high school dropouts to start colleges, medical doctors to open art galleries, and so on. God specializes in using people who are seemingly the wrong person to do amazing things. If God called you to do it, then you are the perfect person to do it. __________ Corinthians 1:26–29 NIV, Exodus 3:9–10 ERV, Exodus 4:10 ERV, 1 Samuel 9:17,21 ERV, Matthew 13:54–56 KJV, John 1:45–46 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Should I bring my faith into my business?

In this excerpt from Office Hours, Pastor Amos advises that if your Christian faith is the "secret" to your business's success, it is a disservice to your clients to hide that component. A major key to success is acceptance

Most believers already have a good basic knowledge of what God has called them to do because God has not been hiding it from them. He has revealed it to them throughout their lives. The real issue is that many of us have not accepted our calling. We are full of self doubt and excuses. However, until we willingly accept our calling, we can't even begin to be successful. __________ Exodus 3:10–14 ERV, Exodus 4:1, 8, 10–17 ERV, Luke 4:16–21 KJV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________

Is the anointing for that assignment gone?

It is critical for us to stay aware of God's current assignments in our life. This is important because when God ends one assignment and instructs us to undertake another, He removes His anointing from the old assignment and transfers it to the new one. If we miss the transition, He does not force us to stop the old assignment. He will allow us to keep going without His anointing. However, this is not a good situation for us because without the anointing, that same assignment that used to be fun and full of success will turn bitter, stress us out, and drive us to depression. __________ Samuel 9:15–16 KJV, 1 Samuel 10:1 NIV, 1 Samuel 11:1–2 NIV, 1 Samuel 11:6, 11 NIV, 1 Samuel 16:12–14 KJV, 1 Samuel 17:8–11 NIV, 1 Samuel 28:15–16 NIV, 1 Samuel 31:3–4 NIV __________ Partner with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com/partner Connect with Us: https://churchforentrepreneurs.com __________
