La Contraloría General de la República detectó diversas irregularidades en la implementación del programa del Minsal "Hospital Digital" puesto en marcha entre el 1 de enero de 2018 y el 31 de diciembre del 2019. El uso intensivo de datos fue clave en la fiscalización que estableció que de las más de 22 mil licencias de software que compró el Ministerio de Salud por más de 3 mil 200 millones de pesos, a octubre de 2019 se usaban menos de 50.
