Exodus: From Slavery to Indwelling Glory

from One New Man MInistries

We arrive at the end of the book of Exodus and discuss the summary of the themes. The book starts in Egypt with the Israelites as slaves, and God calls Moses to set His people free, to redeem a people for Himself. We discuss the major themes, from slavery to glory. We are saved by grace and are instructed in the Law of obedience, how to live with the Holy God in our midst. "If you love Me then you will keep my commands." We see the name of God, as well as God reveals His character: God, merciful, gracious, slow to anger, full of steadfast love and truth, forgiving and holding us to account. He instructs us in how to build a dwelling place for the LORD, the tabernacle with the ark cover and mercy seat. In the end of the book after the people have completed the meticulous execution of building the tabernacle, the Shechinah Glory of God enters into the tabernacle to dwell with the people. The finished work of God brings the Glory of God.
