This narrative has shaped the identity of God’s people throughout history, from the Israelites to New Testament disciples of Christ. In Exodus, God uses trials and unjust systems to teach dependence on Him as the mighty Yahweh. The first 15 chapters reveal God's character, His plan to address humanity's sin, and His intention to liberate creation from bondage. Like the Israelites, Christians are saved into purpose—called to worship God and bless the nations.
