In the Old Testament, statred in the Exodus from Egypt to settling in the new homeland, the Hebrews worship God in the tabernacle. This is the hallowed place where God comes down from heaven to meet with them. In the New Testament, Jesus' sacrifice on the cross began a new process of the Tabernacle, where the Holy Spirit comes down not to a place but into those who repent and accept Jesus' sacrifice for them.
