EXPECTATIONS IN THE DESI COMMUNITY

I came to the recent realization that no matter how hard I try to salvage a complicated relationship with family members, no matter how much I try to be the perfect daughter and seek validation, the list of expectations will forever be unreachable.Rather than trying to fit into a box and feel bad for MY choices, I made the decision to limit access to the beautiful parts of my life (friends, relationship, dreams, goals aspirations ect.) for those family members who simply refuse to love me for me. This week’s episode was touchy to say the least, mixed with lots of emotion, I talk about the suffocating expectations placed upon me, how many people in our community struggle with desi expectations and the importance of speaking up for yourself.I pray that anyone experiencing the pressures of expectations is freed and has the courage to live authentically. As always, thank you for watching and listening. Enjoy!  Hosted on Acast.
