Expert Talks: Klaus Speidel and Katrina Daschner unpack problematic notions of the archive

Klaus Speidel (philosopher, curator, critic, University of Applied Arts Vienna) and Katrina Daschner (artist) discuss aesthetic approaches to curating in Kate Sutton's exhibition and thereby unpack the problematic notion of the archive in regard to Daschner's body of work. The discussion was moderated by Lisa Moravec. The discussion took place at Lombardi-Kargl on Thursday, 19 SeptemberAbout Expert Talks: The program of this year Curated By is also dedicated to the topic of artists’ archives and estates. As part of the festival’s discursive format, the invited curators will be in dialogue with art historians. These conversations will focus on the challenges of art historical evaluation and practices of making visible the archives and estates of the presented artists. Artistic strategies of (self-)archiving will also be discussed, as well as the role that art critics, galleries, and museums play in these processes.
