Exploring AI Innovations and Web3 Connections at Web Summit | S4 E45

from Web3 CMO Stories · host Joeri Billast

Send us Fan MailEver wondered how an event brimming with over 71,000 visionaries feels? Join me, Joeri Billast, as I guide you through the electrifying atmosphere of the WebSummit in Lisbon. This year, AI took center stage, with 3,000+ companies showcasing their innovations across bustling floors. As a Sintra local, attending the summit was a delightful escape from long-haul flights, though an impromptu trip to Belgium for an AI workshop meant I was flying back to Portugal just in time for the event. From intimate meetups scheduled via the WebSummit app to reconnecting with industry peers like Diego Borgo and Ethan Pierce, the experience was an exhilarating blend of chaos and connection. While there wasn't a dedicated Web3 stage this year, the spirit of Web3 thrived in side events like the DePIN Day by Outlier Ventures, where networking was anything but ordinary. Despite missing a main stage presence, Web3 was interwoven into every corner of the summit, promising a return next year. Each side gathering, whether atop a rooftop bar or amidst the buzzing meetups, turned into a serendipitous reunion of the Web3 community. Listen along as I recount these enriching exchanges, the thrill of bumping into familiar faces, and why WebSummit remains an unmissable gathering for tech enthusiasts worldwide. This episode was recorded via Descript on November 15, 2024.
