Exploring James (James 4:9-17)

So far, the book of James has been typified by two pillars: the tongue and true faith. Another recurring theme that we find in this book is that of humility. In fact, it is the undercurrent of chapter 4. We see that friendship with the world is enmity with God. However, we also learn that friendship with the world stems from pride. Verses 9 to 17 follow this theme and it shows us pride in different shades.
