F35 Stealth Fighters Refuel Mid Air While Patrolling Over The Middle East
from NTA Video Stories
Middle East – U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II stealth fighter aircraft received fuel from a KC-135 Stratotanker while flying patrols over the Middle East. Close-up aerial footage shows the gray fighters approaching and connecting to the tanker’s refueling boom high above hazy terrain typical of the region. The aircraft, carrying the markings “KANSAS” and “COYOTES” on their tails, are seen locking onto the boom from multiple angles during the fuel transfer. The video includes views from the boom operator looking down at the fighter aircraft, side profiles of the refueling connection, and green infrared night-vision footage showing the same operation after dark. U.S. Central Command said the F-35A Lightning II aircraft were receiving fuel while conducting patrol missions over the region. Aerial refueling allows the fifth-generation fighters to remain on station for longer periods without landing. The operations support ongoing U.S. force presence and readiness within the CENTCOM area of responsibility. Similar missions involving KC-135 tankers and F-35 aircraft have been documented throughout 2026 as part of routine air operations.
