Who came expecting I got our pastor came expecting that's a good thing. There we go Yeah, hey right there. It is church. I believe it taking expecting heart Okay, that we're doing today.
That must be the place. That's the presence right there. I'm just gonna stay right there. We're in it close your eyes That's what happens it gets real when you step in I'll stay up here today.
That's my son. They're trying to work on it But church I'm really excited to jump back into part four of Faithful promises. This was just a message that was laid on my heart to end up just that's what I love about our pastor He's really he's here. He's in it.
He's taking notes. He jumps in and now he's just taking it into he's taking it into a series I guess where we're not sure we were talking about this morning But I think it's just awesome the messages that are coming out of it Because when we trust God's covenant and we keep ours God does just if you guys have been here the past couple weeks You see he does miracles he does crazy things he gives us the ability to keep going keep trusting grow and mature and like We should be doing in the body amen and I hope you're here expecting because I believe he's got to wear first today that might be a little challenging Not gonna lie, but I'm excited to to preach it because I believe it's necessary. How many know that Christ? Christ has already came once Amen Okay, I just want to make sure this is gonna be a hard message if we don't understand that he came once in in the first time He came he came to make us no longer separated from God the way we can have a relationship with him He came and he paid for sin amen.
He's coming again All right, yeah, this is gonna be a good day He's coming again, and I hope you're excited because this time when he comes he's coming to bring us into the fullness of salvation Since paid for I hope that we really start to believe church that we once we believe and understand what he did the first time That gives us the ability to walk in a freedom to walk out his purpose with power With boldness with courage with all those things we desire to want and we begin to do that We start making a kingdom impact on a bigger scale We start to do things that really we were meant to do like you know I mean he enabled us to do those things and what I'm hoping is that we as we get into this that we take a we leave the hurdle today Into this new covenant with a new understanding what our purpose is and we put some passion behind that We begin to walk this thing out because he's got big plans for you He has a purpose for you and together we can make an impact Hey, listen one of us by ourselves can probably do some things but together we can make an impact Okay, come on leg up with me church. Sure. I'm excited. I just got back from a Conference so forgive me.
Sorry not sorry, but like it really like surged me up and we're gonna learn to search life God's way So faithful promises. I'm gonna give you a there's a Hebrews 10 turn there with me if you will we're gonna be in 19 But there's a there's a profound truth in this And this is going to be the message translation. You will see that I do like to read out of that But this really just I'll say in a beautiful way It uh it lays out the assurance we have in God's covenant and the call to keep our own So we're gonna dive right into it and what the promises inspires us to do and to be steadfast in our commitments both Everyone say this with me church then and now Yeah, we're getting there. All right historical context.
We'll give you a little backdrop in this The early Christians faced intense persecution and hardship. Okay. I'm not gonna get into the persecution today With modern day persecution because I think a lot of times we put ourselves in situations and we call it persecution, but we're We're gonna skate by that one. We're gonna talk.
We have hardships. We have things we go through there's challenges There's trials there's temptations. There's all of those things, but I want to talk to there I just talked about the broader context really of of what a Hebrews kind of is about which is that Jesus You guys are looking up there. It's not up there yet Is that the concept is that Jesus has already came and now there's a new covenant And so that's the broader like focus that I want you to kind of keep as we're going on and To understand that the foundation of our faith is through the work of Jesus Okay, amen, and then the resurrection is our victory over sin and death and that the second coming is to bring us into full salvation Not to deal with sin.
He's already taking care of that So so we kind of we got we got down what that is now this part of what we're gonna talk about is to encourage for them to stand firm in their faith and And that's uh, that's my heart today is that as we walk out of this building that we stand firm in our faith That you're gonna see that what they they were able to stand through it then and now they're being encouraged now And that's like I want you to understand that what he did then He's still doing now and we can we can put complete trust in that complete faith in that it fuels us All right, I'm getting ahead of myself Hebrews 10 39 I started out with the amplified version before I went all the way message translation just for some of you guys who Are a little iffy on the message says but our way is not that of those who shrink back say don't shrink back To destruction, but say we are come on church We are of those who believe relying on God through faith in Jesus Christ the Messiah and by the confident faith preserve the soul Father help us today help us give us the confidence to trust you guys We thank you for everything that you've done and what you're doing and what you're coming back for God And we're looking forward to it God and we thank you help us grow today in Jesus name amen All right, we're jumping right into Hebrews 10 starting in verse 19 the message translation This says so friends we can now without hesitation walk right up to God into the holy place The holy place without hesitation. There's nothing holding us back no more Nothing can stop us from walking into the presence of God anymore. We don't need sacrifices. We don't need like there's nothing We had one sacrifice.
It was perfect. It's done. It's made and we have now complete access to the Father so Jesus cleared the way by the blood of sacrifice acting as our priests before God the curtain into God's presence is his body 22, so let's do it full of belief Go yeah, there you go full of belief and after this in there just so you guys in case you didn't know says full of belief Let's do this full of belief You guys realize that God created your faith and put it in you to trust his promises Like think about that for just a second the faith that you have God created it He he created it put it in you to use What do you what do you put in your faith in? What do you what do you put in your trust in?
He created it give it back to him. Amen Says confident that we are presentable inside and out. Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going He always keeps his word. Let's see how Invite of we can be an encouraging love and helping out not avoiding worship together as some people do But spurring each other especially as we see the big day approaching if we give up next if we give up and turn our backs on All we've learned all we've been given all the truth We say now know We repudiate crisis sacrifice and are left on our own to face the judgment I don't know anybody that wants to do it on their own and a mighty Anybody want to do it on their own?
Sorry and in mighty fierce judgment it will be if the penalty for breaking the law of Moses is Moses is physical death What do you think will happen if you turn on God's son? Spit on the sacrifice that made you whole and insult this most gracious spirit This is no light matter. God has warned us that he'll hold us to account and make us pay. He was quite explicit Benjans is mine and I won't overlook a thing and God will judge his people nobody's getting by with anything believe me Last last verse remember those early days after you first saw the light those were the hardest times Awesome when you first saw the light those were the hardest times You guys you guys so would you say at this point those in here that have all the light have accepted it have lived What do you realize you've already been through the hardest part?
I don't know if we do church but what I'm gonna help us today Those were the hard times kicked around the public targets of every kind of abuse some days It was you other days your friends and some and if some friends went to prison You stopped by them if some enemies broke in and seized your goods You let them go with a smile knowing they couldn't touch your real treasure I want somebody to know that today you got a real treasure and it's protected and they cannot take that they can't touch it It's it's not protected by you either The one that gave you the treasure protects his treasure amen and it says You catch my spot again Nothing they did bothered you nothing set you back. I can probably preach on that right there the rest of the time So don't throw it all way now. Say don't throw it all way now You were sure of yourselves then it's still a short thing But you need to stick it out staying with God's plan you'll be there for the promise promise completion and everybody say amen And they says it won't be long now. He's on the way He'll show up almost any minute But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust if he cuts and runs I won't be very happy But we're not quitters who lose out.
Oh, no, we'll stay with it and survive trusting all the way All right church. We're gonna jump into this. I don't know if you just read that with me, but wow First point I want to make is those shorts of God's covenant says we can now everyone say now With confidence go right into God's presence Back then when we first embraced our faith we were filled with all and gratitude for the new access We had to God through Jesus his sacrifice toward the veil and invited us into an intimate relationship with him Do you all well you all remember your first like excitement and experience with God? Anybody in here was it just me that it was like it was something new It's like it was exciting.
There was a fire. There was just I don't know you were excited you had you had joy You had peace you had a strength you had you didn't need all that encouragement to just get up and go after it Nobody that was just me I'll just say I don't think like I don't think I'm special. I'm pretty sure he he did something to me and it lit something and I'm like Yeah, you know what I mean? Like where does that go?
Hear me today church where? Where does that just? Don't just you don't give it and take it back It actually it actually could grow Like it's a if you continue to rise you could continue to move forward the more you trust me the more you experience you know All that stuff is with you, and it's just it's an incredible experience And if you haven't done that today, there's gonna be an opportunity later And if it's you that's sitting here and you haven't done that I'm gonna tell you the best experience you'll have in your life Trying for 30 days if you don't do something for you, you can give it back, but I promise you're gonna keep it forever so For those who have I want us to take a practical application today. Let's rekindle that No If not in here So guys, that's a practical application.
Let's rekindle that initial passion and approach like let's approach God with the same confidence and reverence we had Let's how do we do this? Let's remind ourselves of it. You know what you put your thoughts on and the things you speak That's where you put your faith at you realize that? You're awake like I'm telling church you can ask kill people and know me I wake up every day I say it's gonna be a great day, and I do the people that know me I tell them hey It's gonna be a great day because that's what I that's where I put my faith at I'm not putting my faith that it's gonna be a bad day We sang he created all he works all things for good.
He created all things if we would just be the Like the clay and let him be the potter. I think he knows how to mold us We just don't let him shape us into what he's created us to be But let's start doing that let's remind ourselves point number two Encouraging one another in faith it says let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going He always keeps his word Church those of you that have experienced him as he ever not kept his word to you If he had like if he has not I'm begging you let me take you the dinner or to lunch after church today Because I want to know because I'm not met a single person yet It would be a rarity to meet with you and have lunch and I'd be happy to he always keeps his promises He's never not done it. He's maybe has not done it the way you wanted him to But he always comes through and it's always perfect when his hand is on top of it And it's in in this we are called to support one another We must spur each other on toward love and good deeds remain in faithful and meeting together church I don't know how you grow if you are not meeting with a body of people that are following and walk in the same direction as you I get people all the time that talk about and I'm just like why do I I'm not gonna jump back and forth the scripture and argue with you It's it's obvious doesn't everybody say you got to put yourself around the people like where you want to go You got to put yourself around those people amen well guess what if you're following him? There's a gathering every Sunday.
I join you to continue to gather with us here And there's gonna be more gatherings and we're gonna come together even more and build up community relationship unity because we're going after God And what God wants for us and we want to grow in that mature night and that's what we're here for all right Let's go to I got go back one. I want to make one more one more point there It ain't gonna happen by itself. We got to make it a priority church It's it's got to be something that you desire because you know that it's it's what God's calling you to Like it has to be a priority has to be a focus It's available And listen I want to help all people grow all people to learn to serve and for us to impact together But it's it has to be a priority of you. I can't force you here.
I can't drag you here can't desire like I can't desire it for you Because believe me if I would everybody in here would be on fire I promise you because I want to see God in his promises come to pass in our city I want in our community. I want to see people healed. I want to see people save I want to see all of that stuff But it takes us to make a priority in our life to desire that to grow together The step out and take a risk and allow the supernatural to become our natural But it can't happen if we don't do the natural it's called supernatural It takes a foundation of natural for the super to come in but if there's no foundation of the natural We're not walking out our part and what we can do if there's no room for him to make it super So I'm encouraging you guys like if we're gonna if we're gonna claim and say God, I know it's you're good This is who you are. I want to follow you.
We got to make it a priority. What are you passionate about? You passionate about music? I tell you what guys.
I went after sports like crazy. I love sports I didn't have a problem getting up and chasing sports, right? And I'll tell you what when I turn that passion into falling him the same as I did sports shoe So whatever it is in your life I don't know what it is I don't have time to to hit everything and everybody's passionate you don't have a problem doing but whatever it is it fits music That's a popular one it fits sports. It fits it fits your profession I don't know like whatever it is if you will chase that with the same passion Chase after relationship with him with the same passion your life is gonna radically change You're gonna be doing that thing even better.
You're gonna be raising people up people are gonna be drawn to you and you're gonna be leading them It's the gospel like that's the gospel Next next line the warning against willful sin this is gonna be a quiet point, but We got to get through it. It's in there if we give up and turn our backs on all we've learned all we've been given All the truth we now know I'm gonna read that one more time In this case some of you guys that are falling asleep give you time to wake up if we give up and turn our backs on all we've learned All we've been given and the truth we say now know We repudiate Christ's sacrifice and are left on our own to face the judgment Church here's what I'm gonna say the way I understand that and don't beat me up But if if you are struggling really bad And it seems to be a constant battle time after time after time one thing to the next I'm not saying there's not challenges. Don't don't hear that But I'm saying if it's a constant struggle I'm gonna guess you've probably done what this is saying you've turned your back on what you've learned What you've been given and you're trying to do it in your own strength and in your wonder why it's just a constant your your dream Christ strengthens us Right he teaches us we grow we learn when my turn my back on all that and I try to do it my own strength Anybody in here experience that and know what it's like to continue to deal with that Plustration doubt fear all this stuff creeps in do you know that that's none of that is of him? So if we understand that then I'm gonna say we've probably done this and if we would get honest with ourselves And we would turn back to what we've learned What we've been given and we start to follow that and we start to put trust in that You're like things are gonna start turning around and you are gonna be given a strength a courage a boldness all of that to walk this thing out So the real thing is is we get honest We get honest with yourselves Christ paid for sin hear me.
It's done. I hope a weight is lifted off of someone's shoulders today that when he comes back doesn't he's not entertained with that It's done paid for he does everything perfect. So there's no reason even bad and I at that when he comes back It's what he's saying that's what we read I'm now coming back and expecting that you if you're still focused on that You're gonna miss why I'm coming back. It's not that I don't love you.
It's not that you didn't think what he did was enough basically Because it was finished at the cross and now when he comes back He's looking for the believer that is now past that and now living their life with purpose and with passion to where he can now take you That you've got over that so now you're not separated now. You can grow in relationship with him He's now got at the place of believers. He's coming back for to bring him into that fullness The fullness of salvation help me out Can he bring you into the fullness? If he can yes, but can he if you've not gotten past that We church let's stop beating ourselves up.
Let's not focus on sin that's like our Savior's coming back to bring us into something better And we we're still stuck over here. I believe a lot of people I believe this a lot of people are preaching a new covenant message Insane those things but living in old covenant walk walking in old covenant walk and we're wondering why we're confused or we're stressed out We're like you can't compete with obsolete. I'm sorry, but that old one is it's now obsolete We have a Savior on this son who has finished it who has called us to more who has given us access to everything We are now a new creation in Christ raised just as he was Church come on. No one's gonna clap that we're a new creation Like help me out a new creation in Christ Everything you need to walk this thing out Let's jump the hurdle today.
Let's jump the hurdle today church. Oh, there we go then and now Let me see if I had any notes in between I think that's good Then and now first 35 and 36 So don't throw it all away church say now you were sure of yourselves It's still a short thing. I added in now But you need to I didn't add to God's word don't get mad at me. Don't send me a message later But you need to stick it out Staying with God's plan so you'll be there for the promise completion This this message and whole thing that we've been in is about trusting God's covenant and keeping ours like trusting He has faithful promises Like trusting Him in church.
I know a lot of people in here I'm talking to myself When are we going to get to a place? That what we've overcome then we can overcome now and we can stand in this with confidence that he can grow us As we got a quit tripping over the same things Like what we are trying to build and help help here is to help believers be strong and confident in their faith That when another situation comes you're not you're not crushed and it doesn't wipe you out You realize that the hard thing you went through then you can trust and stand in it now And it's saying that if it was a short thing then It's a short thing now What is it today church that you you need encouraged in or you need to make the connection that's disconnected from whatever it is You walk through then that you might be going through now or you will be going through at some point in time What what is the ingredient that's missing? That you had the excitement and was able to make through in the hard times then and kept a hold of it That you're not now Like Fred was talking about like that people jump ship and we're just scratching my head. I'm like why god?
You're the same yesterday today and tomorrow if you did it then you'll do it now Like what what is the problem with grabbing a hold and trusting now when I've trusted then and it's saying come like where's your faith? Where's your faith that you had faith then? Well, you don't have it now and any time you try to question somewhere like you don't Question my faith like what would happen it was then but now it's not now So what's the like what's the honest like what's the problem? There's only one thing that you removed now that you had been which is faith the trusting So why not now?
So I pray that we would have faith we would have faith the same church Don't throw it all away. You've come too far. You're right there. This is just another hurdle You got over it then church say let's do it.
Come on. We got over it then. Let's do it What's stopping you now? Nothing stops you then why something's stopping you now We have to continue to move into this and God wants to continue to give us more More and I think we're just stumbling over what like we already got through it and he wants to give us more And we're tripping and fumbling over and we can't pick it up now and guys just like Why then?
But not now I want to help us today in times of hardship now Recall God's past faithfulness Like did you hear a pastor last week? He's got history with God I'll be honest the church. I was tired this morning and feel real good. We went to some crazy buffet right took me to I ate so much food.
I couldn't stop eating and I didn't feel good Then but guess what I feel fine now I have history with God Then when I put my trust in him he comes through like we have to get to that place God's past and his faithfulness Let it fuel let it fuel your perseverance now But remember what I said what you put like your faith in if I'm gonna put it in the habit this situation is different God It's a little bit bigger than the last one. He's like these things Come on like and if I put my faith in the past faithfulness of God It'll fuel me to help me persevere through the thing now. I got one hand clap. Thank you.
That's a good point right there I don't care and anybody says I'll preach that thing. Yeah, I got to that's late. It doesn't count First 39 quitting it is not an option, but we were not quitters who lose out. Oh, no We'll stay with it and survive trusting all the way Church, there's something greater at the end of this.
There's a trust that needs to be behind this There you got it There has to be something that you believe in and put trust in to realize that there's there's something greater that's coming The only reason that we fall short I believe is because we we stop putting our faith and trust and hope that there is actually like his promises of coming back and returning are true Like that's the only thing that I can think of that happens is that I stopped believing that that day is approaching I stopped getting excited for it I stopped putting all my faith in him in that his promise is that he's returning and I believe that's when I start to fumble on the now Like the now because remember we did it then right you you've been through it You've been through a situation you did it then but there's only one thing that stumbles us now And that's because we've lost our focus that he is the author He's the beginning. He's the end. I don't know what your cliche is are I'm trying to touch them But I just want to let you know it doesn't matter like if you put faith in that that's who he is and you see that if it worked then By golly it's going to work now. So here's the promise the confident faith preserves the soul the promise is Those who have faith preserve their soul the reward is both a present reality and a future Hope the present faith brings strength and peace in the middle of any trial church when we trust God We experience his presence and guidance which preserves us in our daily lives The future the ultimate reward is eternal life This hopes sustains us and gives us a reason to preserve So what I did was what you can go ahead to begin to come on I flew through this thing today.
I'm getting better You get better at landing the plane y'all I mean, I'm just gonna have to add more now But I want you to see something There was a then and there was a then and now and when you get that remember that part I told you get over that hump of what that was and you're and you're here now in crisis bringing you able to bring you into the fullness Well, you stop living in the then and now you start living in the now and later and boy I'm telling you in the now and later so much can happen So much God wants to add so much to your life I believe everybody sitting here God has such a purpose and plan for your life and what he wants to add to you It's it's unexplainable Like he wants to add something so great to your life But he said will you trust in the new covenant? Will you trust him? We put all your faith in that For him to be able to add now For what's coming later? Because he wants to continue to equip you church.
He wants to continue to grow you. I believe it He's going to make a point that's done paid for and done Like I'm not focused on that when I'm coming back, please I hope you get it and you put your trust and belief in it But now I'm not now I'm focused on this and church for us to make an impact Everybody talks about I want to make a kingdom impact I want our see our cities are streets cleaned up. I want to see our city healthy I want to see people say he owed all this stuff He can't do that if you're stuck in the then because he says I need you now Like I need you now You're tripping on the then church today. I really hope I really hope that you understand That the only place you're gonna find his promises is trusting in his covenant.
They can't be found anywhere else You're not you can look wherever you want. You're not gonna find them. It only comes in by lining up with him and trusting him You can't find his promises outside of his covenant. It doesn't work But when you put trust in his covenant his promises they become real to us.
They become available to us He gives us access and he grows us even more He's got so much more church. We got to get there Being in the now because something later Something so much greater later his coming and I hope today that you'll put your trust in him now
