Family Spiritual Culture: Roots and Ideals

from The Cosmic Citizen · host Paula Thompson

A high, successful, and happiness-promoting family spiritual culture starts with a foundation in good principles and consistent family practices contributing to the welfare of each member and the family as a whole. This week hosts Paula Thompson, Christilyn Biek Larson, and André Radatus explore the second installment in this series on the roots and ideals surrounding a solid family spiritual culture and The Urantia Book’s unique contribution thereto. What does The Urantia Book have to say on the topic of the origins of wholesome family culture?     "The olden concept that God is a Deity dominated by kingly morality was upstepped by Jesus to that affectionately touching level of intimate family morality of the parent-child relationship, than which there is none more tender and beautiful in mortal experience." [2:6.2] "The animals love their children; man — civilized man — loves his children's children." [84:7.10] “The olden ideas of family discipline were biologic, growing out of the realization that parents were creators of the child’s being. The advancing ideals of family life are leading to the concept that bringing a child into the world, instead of conferring certain parental rights, entails the supreme responsibility of human existence.” [84:7.25]] We'll continue to see how "mixed marriages" with nonreaders work well and sometimes don't. Perhaps you have had success in encouraging personal religious growth in your children, perhaps not. We invite you to call in and share your experience. Did you foster spiritual culture in your family cooperatively or with difficulty? Let's talk.
