Fandangos Pedro de la Timotea,

PEDRO GÓMEZ MORENO, cantaor, más conocido en la historia del arte del cante flamenco con el nombre artístico de PEDRO DE LA TIMOTEA, nació en Herrera (Sevilla) el día 19 de enero del año de 1896, y murió en su pueblo natal el 25 de Abril de 1986. Su madre, Carmen de la Timotea, fue profesional de la guitarra flamenca y buena cantaora. El apodo “de la Timotea”, que identifica a la familia, es anterior a Carmen, y proviene al menos de la madre de ésta. Tras casarse con Carmen Llamas, tuvo doce hijos de los cuales únicamente vivieron siete. Su trabajo siempre fue el campo, ya la aceituna, ya la siega…acudiendo a los tajos y cortijos donde hiciese falta.
