为你读英语美文·第231期：Youth 芳华主播：永清坐标：北京，微信首播写在收听前：“最近，冯小刚导演的电影《芳华》(译名：Youth) 正在上映。因为是在家乡云南蒙自取景拍摄的缘故，我第一时间就去看了这部电影。和严歌苓作品改编的其他两部作品《归来》,《金陵十三钗》一样，《芳华》有一股气和精神在。可以感觉到冯小刚已经不再为钱拍电影，而是情怀。观影过程中，几次泪目。《芳华》里烈士陵园扫墓的片段，就是我们小学，初中，高中都会去扫墓的陵园，安葬的都是对越自卫反击战中牺牲的战士。有一位烈士和我同名，祖籍江西，他牺牲的时候只有17岁，和电影里那位烧焦最后牺牲的小战士差不多同龄，我去扫过三次墓，每次都会把花献给他。《芳华》国际版预告片里引用的英文源自经典美文 Youth，我在13年12月，第2期节目曾经读过这篇美文，但当时设备简陋，读得也青涩，所以，时隔四年，我重读了Youth，并使用了电影《芳华》的音乐，向所有为了保卫国家而献出了芳华和生命的人致敬，也向父母的芳华，和我们自己的芳华致敬。”-永清Youth作者：SamuelUllman，译者：王佐良Youth is not atime of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, redlips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of theimagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springsof life.青春不是年华，而是心境；青春不是桃面、丹唇、柔膝，而是深沉的意志，恢宏的想象，炙热的感情；青春是生命的深泉在涌流。Youth means atemperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite foradventure over the love of ease.
