FAO’s FISH-ADAPT Project Mobilizes Stakeholders to Expand Access to Finance and Insurance for Saint Lucia’s Fisheries Sector

To protect the livelihoods of nearly 5,000 Saint Lucian fishers, aquaculture workers, and seafood processors against severe climate threats, the FISH-ADAPT Project (Transforming climate resilience and sustainability in Saint Lucia’s fisheries communities) mobilized over 40 representatives from government, financial institutions, insurance companies, fisherfolk organizations, cooperatives, the private sector and development partners on August 19, 2026 to advance efforts in addressing barriers to credit and disaster insurance for the fisheries sector.
