Das Verhältnis der Politik zur Religion ist ambivalent. Die Religionen und ihre Vertreter sollen aus Sicht der Politik immer dann schweigen, wenn sie sich kritisch zu Wort melden. Dient die Religion hingegen als Legitimation des eigenen Handelns, wird sie gerne hervorgeholt. Auch wenn Christen nicht gegen Staat revoltieren sollten, kennt das Wort Gottes doch die Möglichkeit des Widerstandes – freilich mit den rechten Mitteln. Es wird deutlich, dass die Politik die Religion nicht nur ertragen muss. Es gibt auch Situationen, in denen die Religion nicht schweigen darf!
