Fiberglass and shorts

from Tea With George · host George Caylor, Diane Gruber, Steve Putney

Feb 5 Fiberglass and shorts During the summers of my college days, I worked for an electrical contractor.  For those of you who listen, I have mentioned Marvin several times as a mentor.  The first summer on that job had me as a shop clean-up boy. I was to clean and organize.  I spent long, hot, sweaty days in the metal building out behind Marvin's house.  Most days, the crews would show up wearing shorts.  And, while working in shorts was alien to me, as the days dragged on, I started seriously thinking about it. One day, I got my courage up and wore shorts.  It was a nice relief from the heat, and I found the day went faster as I was less miserable.  That euphoric feeling lasted until about noon. Denny returned from a job and needed a hand, so Marvin sent me as a gopher. I was thrilled to get out and go do a real job, shorts and all, until I reached the attic, which had 24 inches of blown fiberglass insulation. I probably still have fiberglass in my legs!  Sponsored by the Caylor Group Wealth Management in Lynchburg, Virginia.
