Episode Description
Superannuation is neither set-and-forget nor fully DIY, so savers need to understand what they can and can't control and the impact this will have in retirement. That's according to BT Financial Group's head of technical literacy, Bryan Ashenden. Speaking with the Nestegg podcast team, Mr Ashenden said there's always a lot to say about to super, but the critical area for awareness is how the 1 July 2018 changes will impact superannuation, and SMSF strategies. "We really need to make sure everyone understands about what the changes are and we don't overreact to them," he explained. He also spoke with the Nest Egg podcast team about: - The first home super saver scheme and the downsizer scheme - Investing in cryptocurrencies through SMSFs - The $1.6 million transfer balance cap Thanks, Bryan, for sharing your insights with the Nest Egg podcast team!
