But I've learned if I am ever going to be the mother my girls needed, I have to prioritize time with Jesus back into mom life and reclaim my identity as a daughter of Christ. It's easy to lose focus in our busy and loud world. Between the kids and my phone, Jesus lost importance in my life and so did any form of taking care of myself. My health was stuck in a downward spiral, I was depressed about motherhood in general, and Jesus was in the back seat of life because I didn't think I had the time for him. Between some hard conversations, Holy Spirit conviction, a few breakdowns and a lot of encouragement from my husband, I started to change my spiritual habits and my priorities. God started to reveal himself in everyday things like pennies in a Wash machine, seeds in a garden, and even my children. I didn't realize how much alone time and hobbies would impact my attitude as a mother.
