Finding Joy in Solitude: Interview with Emma Scarton

from The Joy Project With Julia · host The Joy Project With Julia

This week, I had the incredible opportunity to interview someone who embodies authenticity and pours her heart into everything she does—my sister, Emma Scarton! This past summer, Emma embarked on a solo backpacking adventure across Europe for four weeks, and her ambition to pursue her dreams is nothing short of inspiring. A mantra Emma lives by is, "Live your life how you want, and you will be satisfied; you can’t live your life for someone else." Her journey has allowed her to embrace her independence and discover the joy of solitude. During our conversation, she shared transformative moments from her travels and what it truly means to experience wonder and awe. Through mindfulness, she learned that being alone doesn’t equate to loneliness. Emma offered countless pieces of wisdom, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! This episode marks my longest podcast and interview to date, and there’s no one else I’d rather celebrate this milestone with. Here’s to more Scarton Sister yap sessions and to finding joy in the beautiful world we live in!
