“Finishing the First Journey” – A Sermon on Acts 14:1–28

from Twin Villages Church - Sermons · host Twin Village's Church

📝 Sermon Description In Acts 14:1–28, Paul and Barnabas continue their missionary journey with courage, perseverance, and dependence on the grace of God. As they preach the gospel in Iconium, Lystra, and Derbe, many believe, yet opposition follows them from city to city. Even after Paul is stoned and left for dead, the missionaries press on, strengthening the souls of the disciples and encouraging them to continue in the faith. This passage reminds us that the advance of the gospel often comes through hardship, but Christ faithfully builds His church through the witness of His people. Paul and Barnabas not only proclaim the good news but also return to appoint elders, establish churches, and report all that God had done—especially how He had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. Through this passage, we are reminded that faithful ministry requires boldness in suffering, endurance in obedience, and trust in the sovereign grace of God to finish the work He has begun.🙏 Join Us for Worship 🕙 Every Sunday at 10 AM 📍 40 Church Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543 🌐 www.twinvillageschurch.org🔗 Stay Connected 👍 Facebook: facebook.com/twinvillageschurch ▶️ YouTube: youtube.com/twinvillageschurch 🎧 Apple Podcasts: twinvillageschurch.org/apple 🔊 Spotify: twinvillageschurch.org/spotify 💖 Give: twinvillageschurch.org/give 📚 More Resources: twinvillageschurch.org🗓️ Sermon Date: Sunday, June 7th, 2026 Pastor Phil Nicewonger
