Flore Benguigui sort son nouvel album, I-330, aux influences jazz, l’occasion pour la chanteuse de revenir sur les débuts de sa carrière musicale dans l’émission «Conversations» de Madame Figaro. «Comme mes parents n’étaient pas dans le milieu artistique et que je viens d’un tout petit village de 400 habitants dans le sud de la France, je n’imaginais pas du tout faire carrière dans la musique, explique-t-elle. Pour moi, c’était impossible.» L’artiste a néanmoins tenté sa chance à Paris, se produisant dans des clubs de jazz comme Le Baiser Salé. «C’était vraiment très précaire, confie-t-elle. Mais aussi très fun, et insouciant. J’avais 21 ans, j’étais à un stade où tout me paraissait possible et génial.» À cette période, la chanteuse enchaîne les petits boulots, notamment dans la restauration, en parallèle de ses concerts. Sa rencontre avec L’Impératrice marque un tournant. «Quand je suis arrivée dans L’Impératrice, le groupe avait déjà un manager, un tourneur et un label, explique-t-elle à Joseph Ghosn, directeur adjoint de la rédaction.
